It is the role of a Goddess to be a bastion of constancy. To see the world around her move forward, but to hide her own emotions always. So is the shell a Goddess must build up over the many ages of her life.

What happens when that shell is broken? What does it take to move the heart of someone who has lived a thousand lifetimes? What happens when an immortal begins to regret their own life? For once in her long life, Princess Celestia isn't so sure any more.

A very interesting start to what might turn out to be a very moving story. The pains of an immortal must really be terrible. I'd really like to see where you go with this. ^_^

It brought a tear to my eye.
It would have been even harder if any of the main 6 were left to mourn Twilight's passing.
Cadance is going to be heartbroken. She lost both Twilight (and i assume) Shiny. :fluttercry:

I personally think this needs one last chapter dealing with how Cadence would react to news of Twilight's death and maybe a deeper look into how Celestia is handling the death of her favorite pupil.

You should do like, a long time later, how Celestia is locking all this up, and how Spike feels, maybe he forgot her, you know, dragon brain, did she have a daughter? If so, let her try to find spike, fail and than maybe something happens thats all that I've got so far. But really good story
