Actually, Caramel isn't canonically part of the Apple family, though that's a common "fanon" view. And there's nothing wrong with that view either! I've read some good stories that use Caramel as part of the Apple family. However, in this story I'm just going by strict canon where they aren't related. :)

This kinda didn't really go anywhere for me. It's just sort of your standard love confession story, with a paper-thin mystery you can see coming a mile away.
Part of me wishes you'd played up the "I want you to be my fillyfriend" angle. Could have added a lot of humor to the piece.

That's understandable, Present. This is actually the first MLP fic I ever wrote, and I was just doing it as a random short blip. If I remember correctly, it was inspired by someone wanting to see the paring in a thread on PonyChan's /fic/. It may be something I revisit again in the future, but yeah, it wasn't really written to be much of anything more than a "cutefic" at the time.
