This story is after the events of the episode "Crusaders of the Lost Mark."
After Diamond Tiara confronted her mother, she was mysteriously transformed into an alicorn. Despite her sudden transformation, confronting and "humiliating" her mother, Spoiled Rich punishes Diamond Tiara by sending her away to a Boarding School, Coldstone Acadamy, for young fillies and forces her to hide her wings. Diamond Tiara now has to survive this rather brutal academy, navigating dull, soul-crushing classes while dealing with fillies that acted like how she was before. Meanwhile, after noticing Diamond Tiara's disappearance, the Cutie Mark Crusaders do some investigating, learn what happened, and go on a mission to rescue their friend.

How much more darker and more serious will this story be when compared to canon?
I know children often listen to adults and parental figures above most anything, but this is a bizarre premise. Once anyone else figures out she's an alicorn, Spoiled wouldn't be able to influence Diamond again.

Yes, that's true; it's an empty threat that Spoiled is using against her daughter in a desperate attempt to remain in control. It sounds bizarre, but I've been through something similar to Diamond Tiara, so I am putting some of my experience into this story.
An interesting scenario, though the opening felt a little rushed and redundant, I look forward to more.

This is a bit too strict and miserable for me. I was expecting some bullying, sure. But not from all the staff as well. Story gives me the feeling of what I call 'misery simulators'. I'll pass.
