Well, this is certainly an interesting premise for a story. I was skeptical at first, but you did a good job with this first chapter. You got your story set up and you had some good humor in there. I will say that there were some mechanical issues here and there, and you sometimes had some issues with paragraphing, but nothing too distracting.
Also, I hate to be that guy, but you can get a week's worth of food for much less than $130, at least where I live.

I’m a little disappointed that these demons don’t have anything to do with the Seven Great Demon Lords of Digimon lore. (the emblems on the cover art kind of remind of the emblems they have)

I can see how they are similar, but as far demonic symbolism goes, they're pretty different. The Seven Great Demon Lords' emblems are genericized summoning circles where the symbols I used are just what I found on Google when I searched 'seven deadly sins symbols' and got past all the anime stuff.
