The ending was a plot twist for me. I assumed Cozy Glow was going to wind up another little glue pot on the shelf. Though it makes total sense she would turn the tables. I bet Krastos wasn't even surprised to find Cozy murdering him. He might have even been a little proud of her.

I know! Everyone seems to have forgotten about him, but I want to bring him back. He's a really interesting character that can be explored in many ways. Why does he make glue? How does he make it? Who does he make it for? Does he hate ponies or is it nothing personal? How does his craft make him feel? Empty? Fulfilled? I would like to see others explore his character further.

"Grimdark" and "horror" are both very broad genres/terms, so I'm never sure what to expect going into stories like this.
That said, the latter portion of the story completely hinges on the fact that its a fanfic and we know who Sandbar is. If this wasn't a fanfic no one would give a shit about "Sandbar" or "Cozy" for that matter.

That's the point of a fanfiction though. You utilize other writers to establish the setting beforehand, so you can focus on fleshing out conceptual ideas.
If you do it right, there's little difference between the in cannon universe and your story. For the most part, that's true here.
If you feel bad at all, the story probably achieved what it was going for.
