After their 30 year flight class reunion, Lightning Dust decides to finally take up Rainbow’s offer of coming round the farm and hanging out at an Apple family reunion.
There, she meets a hard headed mare with a no nonsense attitude and a hell of a song on her fiddle.
Both are past the days of wasting time on a fling and are looking to finally settle down with that ‘special somepony’. The question is, is it going to be with each other?

This was a super cute read! My favorite part is how this fic looks at different sorts of relationships: from healthy friendships to long-established romances to just-meeting, it's a great fic from start to finish! I also love how they aren't in their teens or early 20s. Love can happen at any age!
Cute story! Given the purpose of the contest, Fiddlesticks appeared a bit late, but outside of that, seeing Rainbow and Lightning's bond was really nice.
I dug this. That rivalry is still clearly there, but both have mellowed, if not matured a whole lot. The callback to prior episodes was a nice touch.
Tight. Two mature people talking it out and being forthright with what they're looking for is a sweet read. Thanks for this.
