It's Halloween 2019 and strange things are happening to a group of four people as they begin to turn into ponies. Low and behold they were cursed by the lord of chaos himself as a kind of "Proof of concept" along one of the most haunted railroad lines in all of Equus where strange things have to the trains and ponies during nightmare night. Now they are left to figure out how to survive on earth as ponies, join them in their adventure as they try to carve out a semblance of living like the highly intelligent ponies they are without going insane.

An interesting start for a new Five Score story! I'm curious to see how the 'proof of concept' status of the characters will impact their change and how they'll be able to deal with the repercussions of being the only ponies on Earth for quite a while...
The description of the steam engine's working is lovingly detailed, it really gives a sense of realness and credibility to Iron's perspective. Considering his human counterpart's job, I'm sure you have even more of that in store for us!
A good start then, and intrigued to see what will happen next.
Oooh. Train ponies. I know next to nothing about trains so this is going to be an interesting read for reasons unrelated to ponies and TF. The descriptions of the train operating in the beginning was fascinating. I had no idea there was so much to it.
I'm looking forward to seeing where you're taking this.

I am glad that you like that bit of detail. Having actually fired a steam engine and worked with them in real life has given me the advantage of being able to make it very real.
As for the proof of concept, I'm still working through some things/ideas on how to make it more interesting. Which, thank you for giving me some ideas on what I can do to make things better and more interesting to set this fic apart from others like it. (I do hope it turns out good and something you will enjoy. You can always tell me if it begins to suck. I want to stretch myself as a writer and turn out a great and enjoyable story.)

Oh my goodness, you are missing out on so much!! Like I mentioned in the other comment on here, I have been around trains for a bit of my life and I have always had a joy and passion for them. So I do hope I get to share that in this story. (I'm still going back and forth on how to keep integrating trains and things of that nature. But I think I've been able to achieve a little of my goal just by sucking you into the motion and sights/sounds/smells of railroading between 1850-1950.)
Also, I really do hope my friend gets more written on our collab for a story that involves both of our characters Pre Discord interference, which will be pretty much solely focus on their interactions and railroading. (From the things that we are talking about, we will do our best to include fun factoids from real life into the story. Like the 4-4-0 mentioned in this story was the American class locomotive. If you kinda want to get a feel what influenced us, go look up Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad videos on youtube. That is pretty much what I am pulling from.)

Poor Ben! He's in an absolutely terrible spot to be transforming into a pony. There's certainly worse ones, but there's not going to be a very clean way to get away! And where could he possibly go? I assume towards Tyler but that seems long a long ways away and it's going to get progressively harder to get there as time passes!
The hyperventilating and strong reaction is real. I'd feel quite fucked put in that position too.

I'm glad you like this story. Sorry for the hold up. I'm just having a hard tome getting the next chaptertp work in my head. I will say that the next few chapters will be focused on a different character (which is where I'm having trouble writing. I know the middle and end but I'm struggling to introduce them.) Maybe in the next few weeks I'll get it done. But positive comments and interest my story helps motivate me, which I greatly appreciate. Stay tuned and.. ... well maybe poke me if I'm slow. Lol.
