One thing that always confused me about changelings, not just Chrysalis, is why they would digest or otherwise eliminate their prey. If they feed on emotion, why on Earth would Chrysalis end Cadance (the literal Princess of Food as far as they're concerned)? If you're gonna go to all the trouble of engulfing one, why not keep them, like a battery? (Sort of vague hints to a very fetishy The Matrix) Not only would you have a continuous source of energy but you'd also have a hostage to prevent such obvious things like sudden revenge due to a pointy stick jammed through you. (A much older predish Chrysalis story went that route, eating Twilight but keeping her inside so she wouldn't be blasted to ash by Celestia or rainbow nuked because Twilight couldn't join up with the other five Elements)

"Because it's hot" aside, I've read at least one story where Chrysalis eats Shining Armor, because changelings are essentially just as able to eat meat as love, and that they still gain love from devouring a pony, basically getting all of it at once. I've also read somewhere, or my mind made it up and is making me remember wrong, that changelings can only drain so much love from somepony while they are alive, before eating them physically becomes the only way to get the rest of it.
Admittedly these ideas clash with the "cocoon and drain endlessly" implication of how changelings work in the show, but oh well...

Eh, I fully understand the kink part. It's just my practical voice is yelling at me at how you don't burn down the entire farm after harvesting the crops. I tend to be a rather practical type which is why people find me so weird.
