Well for this one it makes sense just on the basis that this wasn't about the roleplay of the kidnapping, it was a joke about it.
And two it's the inherent absurdity of someone you're comfortable enough to trust with such a volatile roleplay, thereby making a lie of the roleplay even more than it is to begin with.
