Story is set roughly 1-2 years prior to when the first Equestria Girls movie would have started.

That was really depressing but at the same time felt heartfelt when Twilight and Flash told each other their stories. Odd combination but you made it work.
This is somehow depressing, heartfelt, and uplifting. Good job.
Little did Flash know he was about to enter his first relationship... with Sunset and they never meet again until the Friendship Games...
Sorry, but that's the real tragedy of the story.
Oh one slight critic, guys while one forth as likely to attempt suicide then girls, are four times more likely to succeed... mainly because guys use more... resolute means of ending it, like jumping off a tall building, stepping into on-coming traffic, a gun, hanging. slitting wrists is something girls are more likely to do... not being sexist, but that's the truth, in this Twilight would be more likely to attempt then Flash, but Flash would more likely succeed then Twilight...
Beyond that, not a bad story.

I think you missed my point... I think it would have been more impactful if Flash did go through but was saved just in time. However this is all a red herring, as I started my comment with what I find to be the actual tragedy of the story, the two never meet again until the Friendship Games and they have mostly forgotten each other...just something to think about.

I don't use the AU tag on my FlashLight series because even though it diverges from Equestria Girls from Season 2 onwards, I didn't think it was divergent enough to warrant one. Also, Flash's grandmother dies in this story, and she's still alive in my series.
