Interesting, but you unfortunately hit the ‘annoying’ area of grammatical errors, few grammatical errors is good, too many grammatical errors can actually make a story more enjoyable to read, given that it keeps tense and has passable punctuation, but you hit the unfortunate area in between.
Also, more nitpicks than not, but I don’t think Tank would be dead, tortoises live to be over 100 on average, I don’t think he would’ve died before Dash, unless she’s over 100.
Also, you mentioned Cheese Sandwich growing older in the story, I mean, if Cheese Sandwich is anything like Weird Al, he would’ve aged incredibly slowly at worst, and close to not at all at best.
All that aside, it’s an interesting story.

Tank is portrayed as very old already. Like he’s shown in a way that portrays him as an old man style so I doubt he has a significant amount of life left in him.
And true on the Weird Al part, that guy has to be part elf!
And I just write to write. I’ll try to fix errors and all but I’m just enjoying writing, not really worrying over getting the grammar perfect unless it affects the actual meaning of the words. I know I like using comas instead of periods way too much.
