Akouma

"Oh crap, [Akouma] is right." -Bugsydor

T

The Guardians of Forever. Depending on who you ask they're a crucial force in making sure the universe stays stable by preventing time from being altered by idiots with insufficient self-restraint, or oppressive mad scientist jerks who are just a mafia with slightly loftier ideals. But that doesn't really matter to Mason Smith. What matters is that their base of operations, his home for the last several years of his life, has been destroyed and he's been dumped into another dimension in a body he doesn't recognize with only his translator to help him get out of the situation.

It's going to be a long couple of days to get home and fix everything, assuming he even can.

A crossover between MLP and the fan-made World of Darkness expansion Genius: the Transgression (and by extension the World of Darkness games in general). Little to no understanding of the latter is required for reading, and if you didn't have a decent level of knowledge of the former you probably wouldn't be here. Takes place starting in mid-Season 7.

The main character has a character sheet now! Find it here.

[12]Guess who won’t have a tongue anymore if you agree with her.

I do appreciate this level of snark.

:pinkiegasp: Oh my goodness, a Genius crossover. I can only think of one other one on the site! Plus it has a brilliant explanation for Pinkie... though I have to wonder how much of Equestria would change if her unmada field ever collapsed.

I do hope you come back to this someday. It's an absolute delight.

Will this story have any badass little girls in it?

[11]Sounds religious, sort of. Or at least reverent. I wouldn't put too much stock in whatever she's on about here.

Oh, if only you knew...

Glad to help, and even more glad to see more of the story. I do still love Pinkie all but manipulating the game system itself to get what she wants, to say nothing of other ponies interacting with the supernatural as Mason knows it. Even if it's not exactly the nicest part of the supernatural as he knows it. But if he expects anything resembling the familiar, he's in for yet another shock.

I do love how Twilight was relieved to finally have an explanation of sorts for Pinkie's Pinkiness.

Another chapter of fun and shenanigans. And Starlight's self-deprecating humor.

I liked Pinkie's going off to create a mining spoon.

Always glad to help. And it's lovely to see Mason appreciate the unique opportunities afforded in Equestria. Where else could he find a Clockstopper and an unmada willing to actually listen to him?

"Say Mason, you're a guy who appreciates the sciences, right?"

That line just about killed me. :rainbowlaugh:

This was a fun chapter.

A most menacing final note... though as Starlight demonstrates, vanilla Clockstoppers will find Equestria a less than hospitable environment. Almost everyone in the area has some kind of supernatural advantage, to say nothing of the magic of friendship. Getting Ponyville to torches-and-pitchforks levels of mass hysteria won't be easy.

Clearly this means he should move to Appleoosa.

That clockstopper is being ominous again.

Talking with Rainbow was fun, and the chat with Twilight turned out well.

Ah, the fun of false cognates.

I'm running out of Mania, and ethically getting more can be difficult.

I suppose the question there is what Pinkie does to get hers. Unicorns likely have it easier; all of Equestria is saturated in magic.

As for the Clockstopper... I wonder how much of an impediment it is if the targeted town is home to beloved multi-time saviors of the world. (Probably not nearly enough of one.)

Pinkie being a technomancer is one of those little details that make perfect sense. When the world is practically swimming in Mana, it would be downright silly to not take advantage of it. And the fact that she can derive Mania from community engagement... I have to wonder if it's tied to her cutie mark.

Also, as I said in prereading, wonderfully ominous stinger.
