Cross-country, nonstop, long distance, late nights, above the posted speed. 26 hours from Minnesota to Washington. 150% the limit. Late nights, early mornings. Open road. Only car for miles.

It seems like most of my abstract thinking has been done from behind the wheel. I like it there.

I learned of Brock Yates’ recent death while writing this story. He was an automotive writer notable for popularizing the Cannonball cross-country race. He wrote a pretty good book about it.

'Muscle car' . . . Dammit, now I'm curious.

Also: Cannonball run, anyone?

The sunglasses got me :rainbowlaugh:

Crossing a large distance in a short time with conspicuous transportation.

Please tell me some part of this bet involved picking up beer.

Bon Bon signed and got in the car.

Are you sure it is signed?

Anyway nice little story.

7706436 . . . Holy crap, they went through Marshal? Damn. I wish I'd have known to look for them.

This was a nice short to read right before getting out of bed. It starts my day off in a good mood. I like that. Thanks TNaB. :)

A nice short. Wouldn't mind a few more chapters, flesh it out over a couple more instances, give them some problems to deal with, something nice and emotional at the end as they're looking at the other ocean after going though it all together.

Still, this was nice.

I would read more of this

Because this fits the last scene so well.

With what we now know of BonBon I imagine that she was the better driver, able to use just the right amount of force in every turn to conserve speed around every corner
