That's an interesting question when you are dealing with mind control. It's true that mind control is a violation of consent, but it does so in a way where you are manufacturing artificial consent. Without the context of "she's mind controlled right now," most scenes would seem to be wholly normal if on the kinky side at times.

A non-con tag makes me think of situations where a character is actively fighting back against someone's advances or is extremely resentful of what is happening. If I see a story with a non-con tag I would imagine scenes of blackmail or violent restraint, and so my inclination is that tag would not be appropriate for this story.

Looking over similar stories with the mind control theme, it seems like the non-con tag is usually not included. If a large number of people think it's appropriate, I'm happy to add it on, but the fetish tag and the obvious mind control theme may make that redundant.

The way I see it mind control is like a love potion. It kind of steals consent so take that for what you will. Also I'm so glad this finally has an update.

Great chapter, I really enjoyed that final scene with Twilight and Starlight and on edge for the entire Rainbow Dash scene. One thing i'm really hoping will happen in one of the upcoming chapters is that, with Starlight realizing how much Twilight means to her, Cadance with do something that reminds Starlight of the fact Alicorns are immortal and she then adds some safety features to her orders in case of her death. I know, or at least i certainly hope, those instructions wouldn't come into play this story, but it would be nice to see Starlight thinking of Twilight's well being even beyond where it would effect her own.

Heh, even non-slave Twilight is hypnotizing Rainbow Dash. Can't wait to see what's next; does Starlight work to reinforce control on some ponies or do we move to the arrival?

Sorry for the *checks notes* eight months of no updates. Life has been highly distracting as of late, but I'm working to piece myself back together. Hopefully this chapter will be a good hint at things to come in the future.

Welcome back and I hope things are going well for you. Very intriguing chapter showing that despite Starlight's careful planning and skill, the subconscious is a force still beyond her. Rainbow's stubbornness has gotten that feeling out there and Twilight's need to learn and knowing the importance if privacy is allowing her a chance to resist Starlight's control without realizing it. It's gonna be tense as things move forward. Whomever finds out what the other is doing first has the best chance at winning.

And it's great to see Starlight really is enjoying her time with Twilight as girlfriends. She's still planning her revenge, but Twilight is working her way into her heart. That's another thing Starlight wasn't expecting in her revenge. Between the romance blooming and the subconsciousness of the others she has her hands full in making her plans come together. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Though given that Twilight is all but incapable of refusing to do anything Starlight commands her to do, even in the face of one of her best friends shouting at her for help (Rainbow), the fact that she isn't actively resisting is really more a measure of how thoroughly Starlight has taken control of her than anything else. Twilight as she is right now is not really able to provide any sort of meaningful consent, and Rainbow at least initially was really struggling against it.

They was the closest thing to a spell in the books. Twilight remembered the visual relaxation script from the chapter on inductions, and it was a good starting point.

“You know a spell that could help?” Rainbow asked with a look of hope.
“It’s more a technique than a spell. It’s a way to directly communicate with the subconscious mind. It’s called hypnosis.”
