Also, the second paragraph has a mid-paragraph change in focus from Starlight to Fluttershy, which made it a little hard to follow.

Now ...

Mistress Butterfly is ... wow. That's a hidden inner self. A nasty one.

Without breaking eye contact, Fluttershy stood up and walked around the table. Star tried to stand up, but her muscles seized in place with fear. She felt like she was back in one of her nightmares where Celestia had found out what she was doing. If Star moved an inch, it felt like she would be devoured. Even when Fluttershy broke contact, slipped behind Star and wrapped an arm around her neck, Star remained paralyzed. By the time she could make any motion, her vision was dimming and quickly went black.

So, this is what "The Stare" is like on the receiving end ... fun ...

This line fits soo well :-).

Now comes the fun. Discord ... clearly has been watching, and knows *everything*.
Please don't just make it "hypnotize discord" next. Lets face it, she tries, he snaps, and she's out.

The real question is, what does Discord want for Fluttershy, and what will Starlight have to do for Fluttershy to satisfy Discord?

I acrtually would have loved to See Mistress Butterfly come out on top here and see how that messes with Starlight.
Hope we see more of her and more of Starlight getting humbled a bit. That was very sattisfying.

Almost as soon as it came, the brass music faded, the confetti evaporated and the applause died down until there was only a single pair of hands clapping from a figure that appeared at the front door. The clapping hands had two tight yellow gloves covering them, but the left glove was fingerless, showing long, talon-like nails. The figure wore a simple brown vest with yellow buttons over a white pressed shirt and a small jabot tie with a red gem pin. He stared at Star with a sly grin, showing off a large snaggletooth.

Seriously, Starlight should had tought about Discord when she began with Fluttershy

Oh, I've been waiting for this one. Brilliant work, especially at the end. If Starlight thought Fluttershy was a tough nut to crack, just wait until she has to deal with something from completely different part of the farmer's market.

I was surprised the animals didn't really interfere, but I guess they mostly would know to leave Fluttershy alone when she's relaxing or... having fun.

No clue what Discord's take on all this will be. Unlike Luna, he doesn't strike me as an obstacle that she can remove or enslave.

Ooh yes. Love seeing unique ways of how characters act in trance, especially in the case of Fluttershy, who can be taken a lot of unique directions, it seems.

I hope this isn't the kind of Discord that just goes "I only care about Fluttershy and no one else so be good to her and her alone"
And also not the kind of Discord that goes "I'm so chaotic and fun and to prove this I will let you do whatever you want for the lulz"

Was half expecting it to be the flutter bat persona. Can’t wait to see how Discord reacts to starlight, is he gunna cut her off from the others or if he gunna love the chaos

What a twist that was with Fluttershy. I suppose it remains to be seen if Discord just vaporizes her on the spot.

Not gonna lie, I'd love to see an alternate path where Butterfly took control.

I had expected the balloons and such to be Pinkie Pie for a moment, but now Star gets to parlay with something more dangerous than Celestia on a bad day. Fun times.

An alternative path where Butterfly successfully broke Starlight and uses her to control the others would be interesting.
