My views on ants? They keep stealing my picnic food. Not quite 1k words, but thought I'd share.
This is an interesting, if just a little bit disturbing, idea of how Discord sees ponies. I'd really like to see where you take him with this idea, darling. That his idea of 'helping' everyone understand chaos might be a bit darker than the show could be fascinating.
Thunderous applause, my friend, thunderous applause. Finally someone that can see Discord's side of the story the way I do. And really, in the end, the only difference between ants and the ponies, even the Alicorns themselves, is that they found something to petrify their would-be stomper. And like stealing a god's powers, this only makes them clever. Or, more appropriately, lucky that the Tree of Harmony just happened to be in the new land they settled in.
I've always found explorations of the theme "ants are to people what people are to gods/aliens/strong AI" to fall a little flat somehow (in terms of an argument; not a criticism of this specific story, which is good!
). Now, obviously there's anthropocentric bias on my part 
but there's something to be said for the faculty of general intelligence. I suppose the point of failure in the idea (in my view) is here:
An ant could never do this, but more importantly, an ant could never conceive of doing this. It lacks any sort of abstract intelligence. A human (or pony) mind can conceive of a greater existence, and desire for communication, even were it incapable of truly understanding said existence.
Of course, Discord never shows any signs of being any smarter than a pony, so I basically read this as the lies he tells himself to justify his own behaviour.

A very nice portrayal of what goes on behind those jaundiced eyes. Thank goodness Discord's found a reason to take up entomology of late.
Well, as an entomologist, I'd dare to disagree with some of Discord's points, but for the sake of metaphors I'll keep quiet...
All in all, this was still an intriguing read, showing off Discord's more serious side anf his view oj life. 
However, I think he's forgetting that crushing one ant is relatively easy, but not so a whole horde of them...
