ArguingPizza

And then there's this asshole.

The test had gone well. Twilight was happy, the researchers were happy, Celestia was happy. Everything in the world seemed to have fallen into place......until Celestia was given a dire warning.

Stupid, preachy fic.

Correction, stupid, preachy, LUDDITE fic.

That was quite good, Don't know why people aren't giving it a chance.

763912Never mind about them, they are just jeliuos that they haven't thought of it. Also it could be because it's a HiE, but I'm not intiraly sure.

:facehoof: I usually don't comment on things I don't like on this site. That would take too much time. But rarely have I felt so much fury towards a fic.

I have read some truly god-aweful things on this site. Most of them, at least, had the decency to be written in language that fully explained why the ideas behind the fics were so bad. This one shows that you don't even have the excuse of being stupid.

How many times? How many times will Celestia have to mind-wipe, oh, I'm sorry, memory-charm her ponies because they learn something that might, might, become dangerous under very specific circumstances? A thorium reactor is actually safer and far less disruptive for the environment than any of the so-called green sources of energy (not to mention cheaper -- exotic and highly toxic metals are neither cheap to buy or handle). However, first you need to understand fission.

Knowledge and power are not the reason why bad things happen. Folks with machetes are just as capable of killing large amounts of people, and the premiere weapon of mass destruction of the 20th century was the AK-47.

But the really ironic thing? In canon, Luna almost did far worse as Nightmare Moon than the destruction brought about by nuclear weapons (eternal night, unleashing untold evils, killing all the crops due to a lack of photosynthesis/energy). Celestia could likewise wipe out all life on the planet if she got it in her head to do so. Your Harbinger is a preachy know-it-all who is stuck on one boogaboo and would make others suffer for it. But I guess that sums up almost everyone in the green movement (those who aren't in it for the money, at least).

And as for us, the most likely situation is that we will starve ourselves to death by unteaching ourselves the very systems that keep ourselves, our families, friends and neighbors alive.

I feel the need to point this out, and I chose your comment to reply to because it actually stated the reasons you dislike the story as opposed to 'this is stupid-THE END'. I can respect that.

The point of this fic wasn't a political statement. It was a shits-n-giggles story I thought up and decided to type to get it out of my head. I'm against nuclear disarmament, and that's all I'll say on the subject.

Favorited as part of support from UltimateCanadaMan.

This reminds me of the movie. "The Day the Earth Stood Still". I enjoyed it, can not understand why people would hate this, it was very touching. A story with a moral, do not see those very often.
Good work and keep it up.

764637 I've heard of that movie, never seen it but I want to. Is it really that good? What's it about anyway?

765026 I've only seen the 50's version, I thought it was good. And basically the premise of the story was much like this one. Cept the alien had a giant robot that would vaporize anyone/thing that showed hostile intentions.

love the story.
good jobe

764637 People often dislike stories with morals when they disagree with the moral being presented. "Nuclear energy is the devil! It doesn't matter if you're just using it for energy it will all end in nuclear bombs! It's inevitable!" Some of us believe that just because terrible weapons CAN be created based on nuclear tech, doesn't mean nuclear power plants will always lead to destruction. Just look at Europe, for god's sake.

3392887 What about Europe? They're decommissioning many of their Nuclear power plants. (Or at least Germany is.) I also like the fact that you replied to a comment I made over a year ago.

Why are so many downvotes on this story? :rainbowhuh:

3916646 this was beutiful i know, it should have more upvotes.
