Not read yet but have to pinot out logical fallacy most start college at 18 or 19 assuming that most universe they go they are still in America the most likely age to drink alcohol is 21, granted they are old enough to smoke and consent to sex. Pony Twilight approximate age is late 20s early 30's despite how she looks in Equestria Girls, and Sunset is older then her by at least a year or two. So with a Magical Equestria id they could maybe get smashed if they like. And the bar tenders don't question the id.
