7461797 Ahem... Goliath is from the Disney show Gargoyles. Kaz Kalinkas is from a show from the early 2000's(I think) called Chaotic. Ethan's from a video game called Phantasy Star Universe. I don't know Tigre, he's an anime character though. And Aelita's from Code Lyoko.

7622446 The characters aren't too forgotten, but if someone brings up their names, I bet you they wouldn't recognize half of them. Heck, my brother forgot Ethan, Goliath and Aelita, and wouldn't recognize Cheetara, Tigre or Kaz if I brought them up. And he played PSU and Chaotic, as well as watch Gargoyles and Code Lyoko!
When it's done and said, you tell a room of Bronies about these characters, they most likely would recognize half of them... In fact, it took two people brainstorming to come up with this lot! Anyways, the name's not meant to mean a lot, other than they're a bunch of slightly obscure, or totally obscure characters.
This cought me by surprise, you sir have captured my interest
