I don't think I've seen one where the consequences of recklessness are logically extended to Dash's behavior. But... wrecking the weather factory is indeed a pretty heinous crime that's mostly just pretended to er... not exist.

6652358 It wasn't that it did exist. It's that just no one knew who destroyed the factory. You would think the ponies would make something like security cameras by now but nope.

6675778 As I mentioned, I assume in this story at least that everypony knows.

There is a line by Pinkie Pie at the end of Tanks for the Memories that suggests at least the Mane 6 know. It's a bit ambiguous, but RD's line afterwards makes it less so, and Twilight is right there as a princess, so presumably it's public knowledge. Otherwise, either Twilight should be reporting it to the pony police, or you run into cartoon logic where it's handwaved.

Pinkie Pie: You think we could mess up winter every year? It's way less work!
Twilight Sparkle: Uh, I don't think Rainbow Dash could handle it.
Rainbow Dash: Riding that entire season from Cloudsdale to Ponyville was pretty awesome.

6652358 There's the whole theme throughout multiple seasons and even movies of forgiveness, but just because you forgive doesn't mean you forget. If Dash did it once, she's liable to repeat reckless behavior.

If it only comes down to "how bad you've acted in the past" then RD destroying the factory by far puts her into the persona non grata territory. If it comes down to "how reckless/dangerous are you, including whether you have learned your lesson " then... well then we have to see how RD fares if confronted by the facts of her behavior. If it comes down to "what's your reputation like" then RD wins hands down, being a national hero.

But, no, if the Wonderbolts won't 'forget' about LD or RD's mistakes, then they're simply less forgiving than the rest of the cast. Discord's thing, way worse than what LD or RD did, affords him pretty significant trust...

A new Bolts team? Well, since we've seen the Wonderbolts' failings multiple times before, this seems like the logical conclusion. Not sure though.

Nice chapter, but I have to disagree with one of your points. From what I understand, as far as any pony knows, the Weather Factory had a melt down, and Dash was caught in it, but no pony knows she caused it intentionally. But I imagine her friends suspect she did, based on her earlier actions.

Now that was a Lightining and Rainbow story for the age.

I'll have to re-watch the weather-factory-wrecking episode... I seem to think it was an accident... much like the tornado... I see your point, and this was a really interesting possible turn of events. I like the thought of her losing out on her dream and finding another way to be awesome anyway. It makes for interesting character development. But then, you know I'm a sucker for setting up a character and then taking away everything they love to see how they cope. :pinkiecrazy:

Good story! :rainbowdetermined2:

“You wrecked Cloudsdale’s Weather Factory, Dash,” Lighting Dust said. “If that’s not reckless, I don’t know what is. Spitfire would never allow you in either.”

Oh yeah...
