My step-mother has been living with me and Dad for a while now. I still miss when my real mother treated me how I should be treated, but Gold Digger treats me like I'm not even her daughter. It's just awful.
If you think you know what it's like to be so poorly treated after having such a wonderful loving mother, then you can't even comprehend what I've had to go through over the last few years. Let me see if I can properly explain why my mean old step-mother, Gold Digger, shouldn't even be in my life.

That was a really nice origin take on Diamond's living situation an mother. I think that origin story for her ability is probably the nicest variation of that fanon I've read, just really well painted.

5171386 Much like the real world, you don't have to like someone to work with them. And this story did well to work with doing something with Diamond. That gem appraisal stuff was nice, and Gold Digger ending up to being something more literal was a nice humbling surprise.
Would have made a much grander fleshed out story than a journal, no doubt. But the nuggets of potential family relations in this and how she views things was nice.
