I give up.

Not only should you never delete comments, you should never ADVERTISE that you're going to delete comments. Erase the entire second paragraph in the description aside from the fetish triggers, and DON'T START DELETING COMMENTS. It's censorship of other people's valid opinions, and the option was really only given to authors on the grounds that they use it responsibly and only clear out spam and the like on their own stories.

Comments on stories can help incoming potential readers gauge others' reactions to said stories. If they see strings of "Comment by X deleted at X time" all over the comment section, not only does it send off red flags about the quality of the story, they start to judge YOU, the author, as someone who can't accept that they wrote something bad and people are noticing. I don't know if that's RIGHT to do, but that's how the FIMFiction community works, and in this case, they'd clearly be right about you, because YOU STATE IN YOUR STORY DESCRIPTION THAT YOU'RE GONNA BE THAT GUY.

As the saying goes, when you cut out a man's tongue, you don't prove that you're right. You prove that you fear what he has to say.

4555370 first off let me say I get where you are coming from and I followed your advice. However if you look at the stats of my story I have five times the votes that I do actual views... :rainbowhuh: that can only mean that people are looking at the description and downvoting without even reading it, hence why I edited that into the description several hours after it was put up. If I only count the votes that read the story then it would appear that I am sitting at 6 up and 3 down as of the time of this comment. The rest is just people who are disliking stories based on some criteria that does not include the content or quality of the story at hand. If you read the story and enjoyed it, which I hope you did then thank you.

4555483 No, that means that the votes don't go away when you delete chapters and post new ones. Votes don't leave a story; those were left from the first version of it.

4555510 didn't delete the chapter just did a rewrite and edited it in. Even the original chapter was only up for a grand total of about 36 hours before I asked Naughty_Ranko for help because of the exact same issue, votes without views. When the current incarnation was put up the votes stood at 3 and 39 with only about 15 views :pinkiesick: I know I am not the greatest writer on this site nor do I claim to be, frankly I write because I enjoy it and my friends enjoy reading my work, fact is they are the only reason my first story even got finished and updated. So what some faceless anon on here says doesn't really phase me but when my work gets called "back alley abortion" by someone who didn't even open the chapter, it does get frustrating which is why I re wrote it after asking for a review from an author I admire here. As to why I didn't unpublish the story and re submit, I asked a moderator about doing exactly that so I could get a fresh start with the votes since it essentially was an entirely new story at that point, and was told that would not be allowed.

4555559 That's not how votes work. There's really nothing that can be done about wiping them, short of wholesale deletion and reposting of the story, which, if you did that NOW, would be a bannable offense.

And yes, you did delete the chapter or chapters that existed before; otherwise, putting this back would have returned the comments as well. I'm not saying it's bad that you did; considering this seems to be a substantial rewrite, it's a fair choice.

Stats and views don't always go hand in hand nor are they calculated in the same way. It's also a case whereby the cover image, summary, or even the presence of certain characters or OCs can cause somebody to thumb it down. That's all part of putting your work on a public website. These things happen. And putting on a message like, "any hateful comments will be deleted" will usually result in a downvote storm.

Now one criticism I have here is specifically this line:

I wanted desperately to not be locked in my room but to be in his arms having him ravage me over and over again until I was sated.

More specifically this word: ravage.

Ravage implies ruin, destruction, a tearing and destroying of something such as, "the deer was ravaged by a hungry wolf". The word you're searching for is "ravish" which means effectively to rape, take by force or overwhelm with passion.

. It's also a case whereby the cover image, summary, or even the presence of certain characters or OCs can cause somebody to thumb it down.

For example, HOLY SHIT THAT COVER PIC xD

Seriously just what were you even thinking what

Also, >mfw both your stories are about humans and vampires, not ponies, yet they are posted on a pony fiction site

4556138 yeah, I write them as humanized simply because I can't write sex scenes with ponies :pinkiehappy: as for them being on a pony site, yeah some of them are vampires, but it is set in Equestria with a cast of familiar characters all of the original Mane six have had appearances in the first with continued interaction in this one. I plan to expand on some of the interactions from The Next Hunter further filling out the original story. I intend to include how each new bearer got their element and the fact that they all happen to be related to the original Mane six is merely happenstance. if you choose to continue reading then I hope you enjoy what i have planned.

yeah it just got so much hate that I cancelled it and I'm glad I did as I really lost steam after this chapter anyway and had nowhere to go with it. I am thinking of writing a new story with Moon Strike but it is still in its infancy idea wise. sorry to disappoint on this one but when I have (at the time of cancellation) 6 likes and over 40 dislikes I knew it wasn't worth finishing.
