I agree, this story does move a bit quickly... But I really enjoyed it so far, and strongly think it does have potential to be a great fic. I have seen a few errors so far, but like you said, this is your first fic. Im rather fairly new to writing too, but I know it is common for mistakes like these. If you want, I could help edit this story, which is totally your decision. And just repeating myself, I find this to be rather very entertaining, and I do enjoy this fanfic.

I walked in to the classroom as I was greeted by 3 fillies. An orange pegasus with a purple mane, a yellow earth pony with a bow and then i saw the most beautiful thing in the universe, a white unicorn with sparkling emerald eyes, a lucious purple pink mane and a smile that is brighter than the sun.
I don't know why but when I read this, I started dying! That's mean and I'm sorry but I couldn't help it.
I think it's quite rushed but a good story nonetheless.

3526151 Ok, so far i've got three ideas.
1. The snowstorm turns out to be a blizzard. there are 2 main characters and they get separated by this snow storm, one of them lost in the snow and the other has to go looking for the one that got lost. it could be set in either Ponyville or the Crystal empire and its surrounding areas. if it's in Ponyville, the story could totally be about an older Button and Sweetie Belle.
The next two don't really follow your plan but i think they're worth considering.
2. Winter could be somepony's name and the story details their adventures during the Winter Wrap up.
3. Could be referring to the Winter Wrap Up and detail the shenanigans Ditzy (Derpy. I really prefer to call her Ditzy.) gets into while trying to help. perhaps she could meet Time Turner (Doctor Whooves) and "help" him with one of his adventures.
If I come up with more I'll let you know, but I might have to steal back the ones you don't use.
