Good friendships can be hard to come by. Sunburst knows this very well, so upon receiving an invitation to spend some quality time with Starlight, he jumps on it without question. Being Flurry Heart’s Crystaller has been more stressful for him than he cares to admit, and it would be nice to be able to sit down with his old friend, and unwind.

However, Stygian, seeking a book in Twilight’s library, interrupts their quality time. To make matters worse, Starlight is soon called away by an emergency at the school, but assures the two that she’ll be back soon.

The only question is… now what?

Magnus didn't think anything of it. He was just going to spend some quality time with his friends in Manehattan, having some drinks. But then, when Stygian the lightweight has too many drinks, Flash is the one who has to take him back to their hotel. But his feelings on the matter change as he gets Stygian to his room.

After all, he does look pretty cute in that sweater vest.

Sometimes the best stories come from the most unlikeliest of encounters.

In 'Rich in Flowers, Unlucky in Love', one of the flower girls struggles with her growing feelings for a customer, suffering as she watches him stumble into romantic disaster after disaster.

In 'Perspective', Pony Joe shares with one of his customers a tried-and-tested method for resolving a Code Sparkle(otherwise known as a pre-test meltdown).

In 'Late to Class', Lemon Hearts is quite excited to be filling in for an injured professor... until an unexpected student appears in her roster.

And in 'Historical Inaccuracy' Sunny and Zipp go on a scavenger hunt through history to answer a pressing question: is it even possible for one of Sunny's ancient heroes to have had an extramarital affair?

These four stories were written as part of the Quills and Sofas 'May Pairings' contest, where prompts were given matching ponies that didn't have much of a chance to interact onscreen. It was quite fun and challenging. Pre-reading help provided by the Quills and Sofas participants, as well as horsetorian and Celestilune.

The bodies of ponies haven't improved much in the last thousand years. Change of that sort takes time. But what if it didn't have to? Is it best to keep things as they are? Or, given the means, should Twilight choose to accelerate their evolution?

Written for GMBlackjack's Depth in Innocence contest. Contemplativeness is an emotion, right? Here's hoping this punches people's brains real good.

Oh, and I wasn't sure what genre a framed philosophical debate fell under, so I just didn't list any.

Often it is that two ponies will meet and discover an affinity for each other, deciding to spend more and more time together. Time brings familiarity, familiarity brings comfort, and comfort brings happiness.

Two such ponies are Stygian and Sunburst. Following Stygian’s return and subsequent reformation (in which Sunburst played a key role), the two found themselves drawn to one another. Long talks in the library, comparing Sunburst’s knowledge of historical events to Stygian’s memory of the same events, there was a little something that they seemed to enjoy about eachother. After one particularly awkward night, Stygian popped the question, one thing led to another, and now they’ve been officially dating for a good three months.

Today, they’ve gone out to a cafe together. Maybe later they’ll take a look in a used bookstore. Who can say what will happen, until it indeed happens?

Sixty years has he kept his post, sixty years has he served, sixty years passed since the old coot finally managed to realize what was going on and save him from the darkness.

Teacher of history at Crystal Preparatory Academy for sixty years, first-hand witness to much of what he had to teach. The Gull Raids, Sombra, the Oddon Civil War, he'd seen it all and been a part of much of it.

Sixty years of service, service to six principals; the old coot for a few years, then the ever-forgettable Lukewarm, good Principal Amore, poor Sombra, cold Cinch, and now the fair Cadenza. He'd been there through so much; the old coot's mercurial leadership, Lukewarm's invisibility, Amore's even-handed prudence, Sombra's promise and descent into darkness, likewise for his mirror, and now Cadance's kindness and diplomacy. He's seen principals come and he's seen them go, and he's done his best to help them while they were there.

And now, he's preparing to help his principal with history.

To be precise, with making it.

After the element bearers managed to free the Pillars from limbo, all they had to do now was find Stygian, and all would be right. The problem is that they do not know where their former friend was hiding or if he was alive. Starswirl hadn’t seen his former friend since he banished the other Pillars, so with nothing to go on, the element bearers and the Pillars ventured into the far reaches of Equestria, hoping to help their friend.

It's been a while since Twilight and the gang returned from Middle Earth, and they've decided to teach its lore and history at their newly opened School of Friendship, and their students love it! One pony most intrested with Middle Earth is Sunset Shimmer, who has returned to Equestria for a long deserved break. The whole idea of new magic and grand quests fascinates her, and leaves her wishing that she could've been there. And after some unforeseen anomalies with the Dimensional Mirror, she gets her wish.

But something is wrong. Bilbo seems younger, and no one has ever heard of Equestria. It appears that she has not only traveled to Middle Earth, but went back in time as well! Now she must help 13 dwarves and a hobbit slay a dragon to get their home back, all the while more, try to find a way back to Equestria.
