This is a take on all the episodes of the series, and a few original stories, from the eyes and point of view from many of the background ponies and my OC. Every chapter will probably have a different batch of characters that get followed around, not focusing on the Mane 6 ever.

This is also my first fanfic and first spot of creative writing in a real long time. So constructive criticism and such is highly encouraged. Hope you enjoy.

It is in very ancient times (around 5,000 years before the first Hearth's Warming Eve) and the ponies and draconequuses who once shared Equestria are now in a great war between Queen Faust with the Elements of Harmony and King Draconerus with the Elements of Chaos. The war just seems like endless bloodshed, but everything seems to change when two babies are born on the same day, Celestia and Discord. Are these two destined to be with each other or to be mortal enemies?

-The prologue is extremely rushed because it's not the actual story it's just trying to cram a whole bunch of background information in 4 paragraphs because to explain it all in great detail would take me about 20 paragraphs, but the ideas will be better explained throughout the story, so don't let the pace throw you off just read for the ideas.

- Why Create Such An Absurd Story?: Fan of Most Everything's contest requested: "I’d still like to see some creative choices rather than, say, forty Celestia-Perserverance stories about her toughing out an obnoxious day on the throne while looking forward to a slice of cake." So, I didn't write forty. I wrote twenty-four vignettes that build upon each other, leaving the rest of you with opportunities.

Content Note: The story suggests that snorting crystal is probably a bad idea.

Fluttershy has always been a shy mare that has kept to herself. She doesn't like being around other ponies. Animals were always enough for her. However, there is one pony that she admires and adores. Trixie Lunamoon, the leader of the Galaxy Rangers. She's strong, brave, funny, and knows how to take charge of her destiny. Just being around the mare makes her happy. Fluttershy realizes her feelings for Trixie might go beyond mere friendship. Could it be...love? She agonizes about how to reveal her feelings only to be drawn into a Night Court plot against Trixie. A plot to destroy Trixie once and for all.

A State of Darkness builds upon the alternate universe established by the backstory of my surprisingly named OC, Wing. Since I have a doctorate in physics, I really wanted this world to have an expanded structure regarding education. I also wished to portray an Equestria in which violence yielded consequences that stretched beyond the discovery of good morals. Before touching this tale, I had envisioned a flight school curriculum that included training analogous to graduate level education, and I had fabricated a history in which the demonstration of new combat-applicable techniques during this training brought about the creation of the Wonderbolt DarkOps. There is also a heavy influence from the adventures I have had roleplaying with my closest friends -- who have shaped my characters and worldviews in ways absolutely immeasurable.

This particular group of ponies has shown an ability to handle the somewhat shadier sides of the realm. While this organization relies heavily upon pegasi and their flying skills, it is not limited to one race, which I think is just fine and dandy - especially with regards to variety. All of these historical bits that swarmed in my mind served as the nucleus for what would become A State of Darkness.

One night, I was inspired by the image of a pony soldier awaiting execution. It touched that desire I held to dive into the grittier elements of the universe brewing in my brain. That picture sealed the deal for me. I started writing, and when my fingers stopped moving, there was something present that I wanted to share with the community and continue. I am a busy physicist without a lot of writing time, but I will try my best to keep updating regularly.

Arc Overview:
Arc 1: A State of Darkness The unicorn supremacist group Einhorn Vormacht emerges and jeopardizes the harmony upon which Equestria stands. [Installments 0-9]
Arc 2: A State of History One of the characters delves into his past for the sake of a curious, by-the-book guard. [Installments 10-14]
Arc 3: A Game of Darkness [Installments 15-29] An old colleague of Wing's reappears with plans to to hurl the world into a state of chaos that not even Discord is down for experiencing.

This is a simple and short rework of Wingfried von Katerinburg's backstory from Equestria at War Mod.

I always felt that Wingfried's backstory was lacking at best, especially so considering the fact that the mod itself doesn't even give us a reason why he started hating ponies, which is the entire point of his character.

Now I am not blaming the people who wrote the original backstory, considering that the writer in charge of it probably had to do a dozen other Bios and couldn't spare that much attention to a certain character's background.

So, instead of making him a cheap two-dimensional villian that was designed specifically to be an annoying loser who was needlessly evil for no reason at all, I instead decided to give him an actual tragic backstory that would give him a reason why he is doing what he is going right now.

When the Plunder Vine outbreak finally seized thanks to The mane 6s sacrifice to give up their elements, Equestria once again was safe, or so they thought. When Twilight saved the tree from becoming drained, a amount of magic was drained from her to the point of Temporary hospitalization.

When rumors of a Doppelganger Twilight Sparkle was spot running around using magic to spawn Plundervines and to vanish. Twilight is tasked to try to reason with this pony who goes by Twivine Sparkle, Unbeknown to Twilight something dark lingers in the background, and Twivine desire for power seems to match this source.

Will Twivine follow the path of Light and go on the side of Friendship, or will Twivine become a bigger threat to the Nation?

Twivine Sparkle belongs to DashieMLPFIM, aka, Delta Brony, all credit of her creation goes to him

"Twilight Sparkle is at college age, with no life experience. Living in the castle in Canterlot for most her life, her only friends are her books and, in his mind, Queen Luna's student Harmony Spirit. Queen Celestia has decided that her young student needs to learn that there is more to life than books. So now she has to go to collage in a little town of Ponyville, but the education she will find there will be far more than she imagined she would ever learn."

Little things to remember:
- This is an anthro(Furry) story. Ponies evolved (with magick) and some races in this world are feral, but stand erect. Such as Gryphons, young Dragons, and so on.
- The story is set in a universe that is like a retelling of the FiM series. Once just an excuse to write an anthro(Furry) version of the show, because of Shon Howell's pictures of Twilight in collage, has grown into a series of stories that has a deep history, and characters mostly its own. Some events are mentioned from the show.
- I replace many words with more pony sounding words, just as the show, but I am pretty strict about it. Such as "Hoof(ves)" in place of hand(s) even if they have hands and fingers, they spent generations having only hooves.
- Celestia and Luna are Queens of their respective hours. Lauren had stated that she was going to have them as Queens, but Princess was more acceptable to little girls. (Darn Disney)
- It is a Queendom, a term I picked up from "The Looking Glass Wars" Since it is ruled by two Queens, with no grumpy males. hehe
- There are many countries around Equestria, with many races who also have made homes in the pony Queendom.
- Bay-B is the Bayland Beyond. A Multipurpose social device, like an iPhone or Android, with a laptop, and Nintendo DS mixed in. Pretty much the only thing in the market that does just about anything you can think. (Becomes pretty background after the first two chapters)
- Ponies are very open, so things like being naked, same sex couples, and sharing the land with all walks/trots/flights/etc. of life, is not a big deal. Though Unicorns are kinda stuck up about nudity in public. Silly shame.
- There are a few Original Characters in here, as well as some Background Ponies.

I have been pouring a lot into making a rich history, and develop the characters with the same passion as the show. It has made me grow as a writer. I am no New York Times Best Seller, so little things might be off, but hopefully will not ruin the experience.

It is a different spin on the series, set in a deep history devolved from inspiration from the original series. What do you do when an insane, homicidal maniac with godlike powers descends upon your life with the sole intent of ending it?

What do you do when you were the one responsible for the aforementioned sadist's creation?

It has been almost a year since the events of "Brothers," and Eclipse Tumult has finally adjusted to life in Equestria. Being Discord's weaker brother hasn't done him any favors, but he has finally begun to come out of his shell, even taking on a student of his own and adopting a role with the Princesses who took him in. Life seems to have finally turned around for Eclipse, and it can only get better from here.

At least, that was was they thought until Eris, an ancient evil of his past with Discord, returns to Equestria, bent on destroying the entire civilization for her own amusement, starting at its heart: the Canterlot Royalty.

The fate of Equestria lies in the hooves of the Princesses, Eclipse, and their faithful students as they fight their greatest enemy yet. Can they survive, or will chaos prevail?

*This story is actually a sequel to several my other stories, "Brothers," "Whipstitch," and "Penn and Stone: Dynamic Duo." However, every character will be explained in a manner allowing the reader to read this story without that background. HOWEVER, I strongly recommend reading them beforehand.
