Sombra had been defeated and imprisoned for one thousand long years, though all was not lost as he had changed the Crystal Heart to work in his favour instead, he then goes on to try and restore his empire to its former glory.

The Chrono-Spell project was a success. Clover the Clever sent Star Swirl the Bearded back in time, where he erased the Windigoes from existence before they could descend upon the three tribes.
Without a common foe to unite them, the three tribes remain separate, continuing to grow and expand in an era of prosperity. However, the conflicts between the three tribes remain and continue to fester until they reach a boiling point.

Finally, the turning point is reached and crossed. Three tribes that could once have been united...
Now prepare to go to war.

"Mum, Dad," Flurry Heart spoke up, "We should be crystal ponies."

Flurry has learnt about colonialism, and figures the only way to fix this is for the imperial family— or at least her— to be crystal ponies.

Now the Crystal Empire has returned and King Sombra has been defeated, but the aftermaths of his cruelty still linger within his former subjects.

One crystal pony begins travelling through Equestria to learn about her past and finds friends along the way. Will revealing her past help her understand more of herself and find a place in this new future?

A few weeks have passed since Crystal Note's arrival in Ponyville. With the help of new friends, she can now take the first steps of uncovering the secrets in her past.

Hi, I'm Jess, or you can call me Doctor Middleton (not a medical doctor, but a doctor of math and physics). When I was a newborn baby, I was changed from a human to a pony, which likely saved my life. When I was six years old, I was changed back to a human, which also likely saved my life. I'm nothing but grateful for both of those changes.

However, when they changed me back to human, it wasn't completely thorough, and now people stare at my ears, furry legs, and tail, and it's all they can talk about. They whisper behind my back about 'The Partial'. I'm literally one of the most intelligent people on the planet, but instead of talking about my accomplishments, they want to know things like do I eat hay, do I have a human period or a pony period, and if I'm attracted to ponies or humans. I could probably cure cancer, end world hunger, or invent light-speed travel, and they'd still be asking about my biology before anything else (no, I've done none of those things yet, but I have high hopes I'll accomplish something!).

So, yeah, here is my life as an anthropomorphic whatever. Where I can spend time detailing the effect of dark energy on gravitational forces, and people will still be more concerned that I ate oatmeal for breakfast instead of bacon.

Now, life is getting even more complicated, as I'm trying to balance dealing with dream gods, ancient alien civilizations, strange artifacts haunted dolls, and, worst of all, relationships.

While getting to know the others he was trapped with, the human learns the tale of how Princes Shining Armor and Princess Cadence first met and fell in love. That reminds the Storyteller of a tale back home that should help raise the spirits of both Crystal Ponies and Royals alike.

Marigold is a young earth-pony stallion who feels like his marefriend is out of his league. She's kind, pretty, and very talented. Adding onto that, she's also a Crystal Pony! Quite the gem, one might say.

Detecting the subtle signs of self-esteem issues, his marefriend invites him over to the Crystal Empire to spend some quality time together. He takes this an opportunity to figure out what he means to her.
