Personal discovery is a wonderful thing. In Silverstream's case, five words softly uttered from a certain distraught friend was all it took to ignite a furious fire in her heart.

Gallus didn't know what it was like to have a home, supportive friends or even a family. Not until coming to Twilight's school did he even consider that having friends could be such a fantastic thing. His friends were now his family; that much was certain.
However, years of living on your own and crying until nothing is left leaves a heart wanting. The last thing he expected was to have frozen tears thawed by one of his closest friends.
Now if only Gallus could figure out how to do this whole 'special somegriff' thing.

Equestria's biggest, baddest, most stair-obsessed tyrant has returned, and he's got plans.

That is until destiny strikes, and our king runs into a bubbly young hippogriff with whom he's surprised he actually shares something in common.

The unlikely duo set off to discover only the best stairs in all the land, and may just learn a thing or two about themselves along the way.

Intrigued by the changeling hive-mind, Silverstream asks Ocellus to tell her more about it.

Ocellus shows her instead.

It's that time again! Friends and Family Day. A holiday meant to rejoice over the bonds shared between creatures and their loved ones. The preparations have been made, families have arrived, and everyone is ready for the festival that is soon to commence.
For everyone, the week leading up to it has been nothing but an unending roller coaster of anticipation and excitement!
Well, almost everyone.
For Gallus, it's been an entire week of unending misery and memories. And while he'll deny it at every given chance, it's getting to him.
Maybe a certain hypogriff can help him out with that.

After the fiasco of last year’s Hearth Warming Tree, the Student Six are determined to have a multicultural Hearth’s Warming, where everycreature contributes a tradition of their own. For five of them, that’s no problem. For Gallus . . . complaining about the food and barely tolerating everyone’s company isn’t a very good tradition.

Ever since confiding in each other about their greatest fears, things haven't been the same for Gallus and Silverstream.

Gallus in particular finds that he can't get the hippogriff/seapony out of his thoughts no matter what he does. But he's never been in love before, and he certainly doesn't have any examples to build off of.

Silverstream, meanwhile, is being plagued by reoccurring nightmares about the Storm King. Luckily, Gallus is there to help her through them. But can he use this opportunity to tell her how he feels? Or does Silverstream have her own ideas in mind?

More importantly, what do their friends have to think of this sudden development?

Ocellus finds a love letter in her locker asking her to meet by the big tree. Her friends as happy for her as she comes to terms with the idea of having someone special in her life. Meanwhile, Sandbar, who has feelings for Ocellus, feels upset that he wasn't fast enough to confesses to her.
