The war started because of politics. The war will end because of violence. You will lead your squad to hell, and back, but will you come out too changed? Will the horrors of war change you into somepony you couldn't recognize?

The spotlight's burning glare and vibrating roaring crowds fade on the famous vice-captain's ears as the Autumn tour for Equestria's famous Wonderbolts comes to a dramatic close with a turnout of fans bigger than they've had all season. Soarin is finally ready to relax for a change. Drink a few glasses of cider, fly around freely, and spend time with his very special somepony, who he hasn't seen in quite some time.

That was before said somepony decided to drop in unexpected at his final show.

This story is a sequel to Just Some Flowers

Readers do not have to read Just Some Flowers to understand everything in the story. However, watching the MLP Movie will help understand my story's scenario.

The Friendship Festival was supposed to be a time of enjoyment and happiness. However, thanks to Tempest Shadow, all of that was burned to ashes and the ponies attending the event were taken as prisoners by the Storm Creatures.

Caramel experience as a slave to a Storm Creature named Groak involved taking a few heavy punches from time to time. But none of that pain compared to the arrival of Princess Twilight Sparkle as Tempest's prisoner. And how he chose to take on the miserable task of escorting the mare he cared so dearly for to her doom.

Twilight finds a strange object far above Equestria. With the other princesses she created a vessel to traverse the luminiferous aether and investigate it. Twinkleshine, Moondancer, and Minuette are eager to prove themselves, and find a place aboard the ship to steer it to its destination. When they board the vessel, they find things are not safe, nor are they familiar.

After meeting up with Pinkie Pie at Sugar Cube Corner, Dash gives solid advice when Caramel takes a liking to the pink earth pony. Pinkie, herself, adopts the pegasi's knowledge and does what she thinks is right.

A very short and simple vignette.

The war is heating up. Whirlwind looks for ways to bring the war to an end sooner rather than later and to ease the sufferings of citizens. The elements of harmony are the only thing that can end the war quickly but there is a problem. Twilight Sparkle the spirit of Magic is loyal to her mentor Princess Celestia who is corrupted by her dark side, Solar Flare.

Until a solution is found Whirlwind must find aid from a very unlikely source which could bring him and the NLR down but he has no choice.
