Starswirl the Bearded is a powerful wielder of magic, who for many years has safeguarded the realm of Equestria. From treating different nations, teaching the princesses, to facing horrible magical creatures of the land, he has seen it all. However, on one fateful day, his life would change. During a raid against trappers he discovered three small children and he knew of what they are. Knowing the risk they would bring he knew what dangers they possessed to Equestria.

Yet, how could he do his duty for his country when they were the last of their kind?

Long ago, the old world was crumbling around the young Princess Celestia, but she had a duty to uphold: to confront Princess Luna.

It didn't go exactly as planned.

When my life ended, I didn't think it would start anew...but I am not going to throw away such chance.
Now in a rather familiar world, I'll enjoy a totally normal school life!

Even though Starswirl is adamant on not giving Stygian a chance of redemption, Starlight refuses to not try at all, unfortunately no one seems to be listening to her, except Spike. But that may be all she needs.

How did Celestia finally gain her cutie mark? What happened between Equestria's establishment and Celestia's enthronement? It's a bygone story forgotten by most of the ponies, lost in the dense fog of history. But there was a time that Equestria was not a paradise of friendship and harmony. A time when our characters struggled for an uncertain future in the mire of reality. It was an epoch of upheaval, when a prisoner can be royalty, and a princess can be a scourge.

It begins with several small things: A filly, a scroll, and a smartphone. However, Equestria soon finds itself catapulted into a larger world, a world where everypony else had spent the last thousand years innovating both magically and technologically. A world where smartphones and 3D printers have existed for centuries. A world where powerful wizards consider death a temporary inconvenience, and who can utilize magic on a level far beyond anything any pony had ever imagined. A world... where earth ponies use magic more masterfully than any unicorn that ever lived... or alicorn currently alive.

Equestria is now far behind the rest of the world, and will have to catch up... and quickly, because while the ponies of Equestria do find themselves with new allies, they now also have new enemies, ones who would consider the annihilation of Equestria as a stepping stone towards grander ambitions, and consider unicorns and alicorns as amusing novelties, instead of wizards and demigods...

Princess Luna has been ruling Equestria for a thousand years, but as the banishment she enacted long ago comes to an end, she only has her student and a collection of random ponies to rely on, to save the world. If they can save anyone, it'll be just in the nick of time.
