Of Stars and Comets

Chapter 1: Introductions

I laid in my bed, enjoying the warmth of the sun that was filtering from outside the window of my room, knowing that in a few minutes my Mother was going to come and wake me up.
Not that it was all that needed, I usually woke up well before the sun begins to rise...unless I had spent the night before gazing at the night sky.

It was a guilty pleasure of mine, I admit, seeing as I should be long asleep before the stars that I enjoy watching came out, but I wouldn't stop no matter what.

Each and every night, Princess Luna would paint the sky with countless stars, creating ever new and beautiful constellations...of course with in reason, it wouldn't do for the Star of the North to suddenly be pointing at South now would it? Imagine all those poor ponies that have to travel by boat, they would be quite bucked.

Ah but I am rambling, let me introduce myself, I am Ivory Comet, a pleasure to be meeting you my dear Reader. If you have found this script it means that the safe I had put it in wasn't quite was quite as safe as I had guessed...anyway, enough of that.

As I was saying, I am Ivory Comet first -and unfortunately- only son of Ivory Law and Cream Cheese.
I live in the village -or more like city- at the hoofs of the Sisters Castles, with a populations of about six thousand ponies, it is one of the wealthiest settlements of Equestria.

Life is in general normal around here and not all that exciting, of course, it has it's odd moments, such as when ponies start to sing in perfect harmony, even without knowing the lyrics of the song that was sang, I experience it myself, quite weird if oddly satisfying.

My Father is a rather well off unicorn, coming from a rich family...that unfortunately cut ties from him the moment my Father married my Mother, but, even after being cut off from his own family for his 'poor' choice in life he still managed to find a respectable job that can mantain our higher standard of life, even at the constant complains of my Mother saying how much of a snob my Father is.

My Father is a...what was the word? Judger? Yes something along those lines, he makes sure that criminals remain in prison, and innocent ponies are let free. It's more like a lawyer now that I think about it, but they call him a Judger for some reasons that I have yet to understand.

As for my Mother, she is an earth pony...and she makes cheese, not the most fancy of jobs but one that still pays...don't ask me from where the milks comes from, I do not know, nor I wish to know.

I was cut off from my own thoughts by the creaking noise of the door.
There stood a lovely mare, a nice yellow cream coat, a white mane, big brownish eyes...she could lose some weight though, especially on her flanks.
"Comet? Come on honey, it's time to get up"

"Yes Mom" with a simple levitation spell, the blanked that had been all over me was lifted up into the air. Slipping out of bed, I yawned before giving a small smile at my Mother, a smile that she sent right back with all the teeth she could put in.
"Slept well?" she asked me, eyebrow raised, ready to scoold me in case I had stayed up beyond bed time.

"Mmm-mm, yeah, no dreams tho"
She smiled at that before shaking her head "Well, that's quite sad to hear, but it would be even more sad if you missed your first day at school"

I froze on the spot, mind going blank for a second before I shouted "It's today?!"

The smile on my Mother face turned into one of amusement before she snickered out "Of course it is my silly foal! Now go down stairs, breakfast's ready, when I'll come down I'll accompany you to school"

I fervently nodded at that, zooming out of my room, passing by a still snickering Mom.

Going downstairs, I sat on the table of our kitchen, before all but inhaling my food -something akin to a pancake, but made of hay and eggs-, not allowing myself to waste time on savouring the no-doubt delicious food, I stood back up and waited for Mother.

About three minutes later -I had keept count by tapping my hoof on the floor- Mother came down, she gave me a small kiss on the head, just below my horn, before saying "Ready to go?"

"Yes!" I was exited about this, in four years of my life I had yet to go to any type of school, and I couldn't wait to see as to what juicy knowledge they where going to offer...what if they even teach some magic?!
That would be beyond cool, I only know the levitation spell and I was quite giddy at the prospect of learning more!

With that, I all but skipped towards the door, eagerly opening it up and turning to look back at my Mom with a smile. I could see Mother chuckle at me, before she followed suit, she took the lead and started walking towards my new and awesome school!

Of course it was going to be like this, it's not like they can make us learn anything exciting seeing as we are only four years old foals.
I mean, we only introduced ourself to the rest of the class, and then we started learning how to read....I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO DO THAT FOR CELESTA SAKE!

BUT! Apperantly, all the other foals don't so I have to stay put, stare at the black board with the big equestrian letters in it, and say the words along with the class...MY Father will hear of this!
Or my name is not Draco Malfoy! Oh wait, that's not my name...well still this sucks.
Here I was, ready to learn the secrets of the universe -everypony knows that the answer is 42 after all- only to get slapped on the muzzle and told 'No'...
I WANT MY OLD LIFE BACK DAMN IT!
