This so needs sequel where twilight realize how much she hurt starlight and betray her trust in her by choosing starswirl no redemption path over maybe he needs help path.

Well she is a good pony she needed to polish her empathy skills and she needed to get Celestia off that pedestal. She also needed to be able remind others of when they were being stupid. Pinkie gets worked up because rainbow didn't want to tell her she hates pie I get being a bit upset but to stop speaking to a friend over is overreaction. She should locked fluttershy and rarity in a room together until they agree to talk. She uses magic for every problem that she can and never really plans . Organize something that she can handle but planing isn't something she can do. Her plans are more of outline of plan than an actual plan. She never even realizes when she being mean to others. If she had better empathy skills she wouldn't have this problem.

Wel this shows starlight point of view but once again miss It is a surprise if say sorry doesn't realize how mean she was and of course doesn't apologize for it. Something showing her learning her lesson and trying to be better would be great.
This is a wonderful story! I love Spike and Starlight, and it's great to see Spike in the spotlight while not being humiliated, for once. I also liked how you made Spike stand up for Starlight like that, meanwhile keeping most of the original script.
This was fun to see.
Too bad Shadow Play wasted Spike though.

I hate the pillars, but I HATE Starswirl. He's made Twilight cry so many times I'll never forgive him. He's a trash character with no redeeming qualities. That being said, you and I obviously felt similar about this episode.
Starlight really began to shine for me in this one and I'm glad she did cause she's now one of the highest characters on my list.
Spike was enjoyable here, Starswirl is a jerk and so much worse.

I would never relegate the sister's or Starlight to secondary status. They will all always be protagonists to me. Cel, Lulu, Cady, Flurry, Starlight, and Sunset are so unbelievably important to me. The canon can drown in a lake.
