For the past few weeks, Terramar has been going to a dance club in Ponyville just to lay eyes upon and hear the voice of a very chatty and friendly kirin mare. Her name is Autumn Blaze, and she's all the young hippogriff can think about. He wants to ask her out, but he's not even just friends with her yet. Well that changes today. He's going to find his courage and break the ice... somehow.

After finding out Gallus was an Orphan last year, Silverstream offers to let him spend the Holiday with her family. Everygriff is friendly, and mount aris is a lot nicer than Griffinstone. It's easily the best Holiday he's ever had. He's having fun... and yet...

He can't stop comparing everything to Griffinstone.
He can't stop wondering what it would be like to have family that cares about you.
He can't stop wondering what his life would be like if his parents had stuck around.

and with everygriff being so nice he doesn't want to say anything.

Silverstream hadn’t always been deaf, but she’d always had a loving family who were willing to support her every step of the way. Gallus had always been deaf, and wasn’t so lucky.

Although Silverstream was found safe and sound, Terramar is still far from relieved about how things turned out and how they got to where they were. As the two siblings head back to Mount Aris it isn't long before Terramar reveals just how worried he was about Silverstream and how worried everyone else was too.

This causes Silverstream to reflect back to a time when she was worried about Terramar as a child. A time when fear was something she knew all too well, back when she lived in Seaquestria.

As Silverstream reflects on this she'll come to realize something truly important about her little brother. And Terramar may found out that his sister's motivations are deeper than they initially seem.

Terramar is stuck between two heavens: earth and sea.

His parents said he didn't have to choose; that's not wrong.

It's not right, either.

Because he never had a choice to begin with.

And he is unraveling.

Written for PonyFest's Iron Author Contest. The whole story was conceived, written, and edited in the span of two hours. For the sake of fun I've decided not to go back and edit anything further. You're seeing exactly what those who judged it saw.

The day of Mother's Day has arrived. Terramar asks his dad, Sky Beak for help on how to make a plan for his mom, Ocean Flow. Then Terramar and Ocean Flow enjoy some time together on the beach.

Smolder and Silverstream are both excited as their brothers are coming over to visit. Both students are wanting to try different things with their brothers, which sort of clash with each other. Still, they both try to spend time with their visiting boys. Also, something strange is happening in Ponyville.

Sunset came back to Equestria during the summer for some artistic inspiration, so Twilight sent her to Mount Aris. Guided by Silverstream and Terramar, they come across an unusual fruit and learn a bit about each other's cultures and their views of gender.
