Sunset Shimmer was gone. 

That was all everybody knew and cared to know about. 

Despite the raging she-demon possibly having a chance at redemption, those beams had managed to dissolve her existence. 

Entirely. 

Or so they thought. 

As a new student enrols in Canterlot High, claiming to not be enemies with Sunset, but frenemies with her, things take a turn. For the better, or for worse. 

Dusk could never stand by and allow another to suffer. He'd reach into his deepest memories to find just the spell for the job.

Even if it costs him his very being.

On a late morning in ponyville, the inhabitants of the Castle of Friendship wake up long after the sun rises to make a startling discovery; Spike had inexplicably transformed into an Alicorn! Even stranger, nopony seems to remember anything about the previous day at all, to understand what had caused such a thing to occur.

The pony that came back after 1000 years of exile to the moon was not the pony that Celestia expected. Instead of the menacing figure of Nightmare Moon what she instead got was a madly cackling alicorn rolling in a grassy field occasionally taking a break to stroke the lush green plants as if they were the most fascinating thing in the world.

While this was certainly better than the alternative Celestia was a bit miffed that her sister had not even acknowledged her presence before going to play in the grass. How could grass be more interesting than her?

Celestia has a secret. There is a voice in her head. It plays a game she doesn't really understand but fears all the same. It wants her, and with everypony that knows of its existence its power grows. She has kept it away for as long as she can remember.

Luna is set to return, and with it, a friend of the voice. Can Celestia endure the voice's games and strengthen her relationship with Luna, or will she lose everything to it?

Scarlet was adopted by the two princesses of Equestria. She was found in the castle garden without any explanations, so the two princesses took the young pony under their wings. After a few years of living in the castle, she still manages to find ways to be clumsy.

He was there a millennia ago.

He awoke from a spell that had cast upon him during his encounter with a beast, now slain long after he had been victim to its fury.

A spell which had propelled himself, his staffs and his estate towards the writhing chasms of time memorial. He and all the others, suspended and frozen.

Forced to watch his proud country collapsed and overgrown. He was there when Sister Moon was banished. He was there when all left for Canterlot. He watched as the surrounding withered among roots and crumbling stones.

Now He and others are forced to meet their peer's descendants, and their returned Diarchs once more.

Fourteen years later, Sunrise's life takes an unexpected turn when she enters her first year at Canterlot High and encounters Brilliant Light, the exceptionally gifted son of the esteemed scientist, Dr. Twilight Sparkle. Sunrise and her new friends embark on a journey that promises to unravel the enigmas of the past and shape the destiny of their tumultuous world.
