Hey, folks!
So as you might be aware, bookplayer—who you should all know is awesome and you should be reading her already if you’re not—has a novel coming out this Monday. She was nice enough to give me an advanced review copy of it and asked me to give my thoughts on it, and I jumped at the chance.
Howdy do again, peeps.
As mentioned last Saturday in my review of bookplayer’s debut novel, Pierside, I was going to review it for my youtube channel, Geek Books. Part one is now up, with part two going up two weeks from now. You can watch part one here:
Okay then. There seems to be a headcanon questionnaire going around created by the user bookplayer. So, yeah. That's a thing.
I, suppose I can throw in my own two cents, although be forewarned: I don't have a firm answer for every question on this list. That's because, well, I haven't actually given much of these questions much thought. But, I'll try my best. Here we go!
The Princesses:
This story was originally uploaded in 4 parts in 2015. Three of those parts were since blocked worldwide because of copyright issues. This video has been edited to meet YouTube's copyright guidelines.
... is that actually Princess Celestia?? REALLY!?

So, after months of indecision (and making poor bookplayer wait to find out if I'll actually show up for the shipping panel ) I finally pulled the trigger.
I'm going to go to Bronycon this year for the first time ever!
Everfree Northwest was a lot of fun, and I'll meet a whole bunch of new folks and have a lovely three days in Baltimore.
Quick update to make up for the last long wait! Swarm Guard design created by the wonderful ArtKing3000 - THANK YOU KING!

(Editor's note: Imploding Colon [aka previous featuree shortskirtsandexplosions] declined a refeature for Austraeoh, our top vote-getter.)
I can be really bad about announcing things and then maybe not exactly actually making them happen. (Anybody who's been following me for long enough may feel a sense of The Dash Who Cried Wolf when I talk about a fic I'm working on, and rightly so.) I very much didn't want to do that with Ponyfeather Publishing, so I didn't tell you about it until it was actually ready to go! Ha ha!
Okay, okay, I'm one to talk. Bookplayer's "Lost Time" has been on my radar ever since she started publishing it, but I didn't bother reading it until Sunday. I still haven't read all of it—the story completes this Saturday—though I'm slightly ahead of the Fimfiction content.
I'm not sure when I'm going to be adding Warning tags to Twilight's Secret Journal, even though it is in dire need of them.
The problem is any change to the story description would need to meet the new rules on Genre's three-tag limit, and "Genre" includes a mixture of two kinds of tags.
Awesome episode today, I think, no spoilers in this blog tho, because... Bronycon Panels!
You might know Bookplayer as one of the more prominent writers on the site. You might know her as an AppleDash or TwiJack shipper. You might know her as someone who has a deep, abiding love for the character of Applejack. Or you might know her as one of the major literary theorists on FIMFiction who has some very good thoughts about writing.
I’ve been on a roll lately. I feel increasingly reinvigorated as I do more actually productive things that result in actually meaningful results. Going through pony stories again on a regular basis is nice, and I’m looking forward to watching the rest of the season 6 episodes I’ve been missing.
But first, more reviews!
Today’s stories:
The Color of Promises by Deathscar
Somepony’s Daughter by bookplayer

Given that I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now, I think it would probably be wise for me to sort of explain the rating system I’ve been using here.
Alas, my dear readers, I must confess to weakness! For my parents did contact me a few days ago and bribed me into a visit with plans for a fishing trip, which I've been wanting to be apart of for some time. This means I'll be heading home tomorrow after I finish my literary duties. Those of you who know me on Skype are aware that this means infrequent appearances and less socializing due to a satellite-based internet that is woefully lacking and the added distraction of being with
