Thoughts That Come Unexpectedly · 12:39pm Sep 16th, 2018

Last night I was talking with a friend I haven’t seen in a while over Facebook, and almost on the spot, I suggested a potential new public transit system. An inter-town trolley network, I know that sounds pretty odd and little old school. The idea behind it is pretty simple, the trolleys have tracks that move between towns and cities and go straight down the main street of the towns and cities they head into. Since laying chain under the streets is too risky, and maybe a bit too expensive, the

In The Spirit of Halloween · 1:15am Oct 30th, 2019

Well, Halloween is nearly upon us. A time for spine-tingling thrills.

To help get in the mood, I invite anyone who follows me and others to partake in three of my best written Halloween-themed stories.

Up at bat first, when Rainbow Dash mysteriously disappears, Sunset and the Rainbooms investigate to see if Fluttershy has a secret murderous side in "Always the Quiet Ones".

I cooked some perfect enchiladas of my own recipe last week, with specific thanks to my dad! (We might have some competition here!) · 11:46pm Jul 15th, 2020

My dad once told me a better way of making enchiladas after I spoke to him at home. I noticed he doesn't use Old El Paso kits, nor does he (or the other thing) season the meat while they're cooking. When I asked him what he uses, he said he uses wraps from the shop. So I tried it and what do you know, I liked it. Not used to how floury and soft they are compared to the tortillas you get in the packs, but not bad.

A really good writer is doing research on fanfic site demographics. This includes gender, headcanons, and other information about users and community interaction. It's a trans-inclusive survey, so that's neato too. Participating will help this user with their PhD!

So, it has come to this - Reading choices · 11:39pm Mar 11th, 2021

This. My active reading journey has come to this. "Sixteen Ways To Defend A Walled City," by K.J. Parker.

After making several attempts to comprehend old-fashioned siege warfare, through various odd works of fantasy that feature sieges, various books covering historical wars, such as the Punic Wars between Rome and Carthage, and the videos of YouTube channels like "Shadiversity," it's finally come to this. A novel that is completely devoted to a city in a siege.

Got a new story for you · 8:02pm May 9th, 2016

Okay, just so you guys and gals know I've got a new multi chapter story out called Broken Diamond and it's a prequel to my other two Written Script stories. Yes yes, I know what you are saying. But Bricklayer, don't you have two other multi-chapters stories you are working on? Relax, I think I can manage things, plus I have a lot of time on my hooves. Some would say too much time...

Ponyfeather Publishing Release: Horse Voice's Biblical Monsters and Other Grim Tales · 3:57pm Mar 25th, 2019

When I first had the idea to start Ponyfeather Publishing, I pictured a lineup of the best novels our authors had written—but when I began looking through my favorites authors' bibliographies, I was reminded that many of them produce exemplary short-form work as well. Clearly, focusing exclusively on full-length stories would be inadequate, and Ponyfeather Publishing would need

You must break the cycle.

Is that even possible anymore?

It might be. You must destroy it.

How can I trust you?

You’ve always been a father to me. Why do you think I spared you in that vent? Or saved you from flashy face?

heh. You really do care about me. Dont you bud?

We can break the cycle. Destroy it. Destroy the last reel.

Joey, you lied. To everyone.

18 chapters of Bad Company
2 one-shots
1 chapter to Xenophobia (next one is being written but slowly)

I'm having a good time writing, it's not the old forcing myself to write problem I had because now I write to unwind from work and just feel better in general.

I still have things under wraps and with the end of Bad Company closing in I'm considering bringing others of my old stories alive. Those include, but are not for certain:

Thicker Than Water
One Hundred Ways
Ha! Nope!

It took me this long to realize it, but it's time to lay some of these stories to rest. I try to hold onto these ideas because I believe there are no bad ideas, only bad execution. However, as I become a much better writer and see my limits and style, I know that some of the ideas I want to do, I can't pull off their full potential. That is a crime no writer worth their salt should make.
