Fic Burials 1 of 2 · 4:08am Dec 18th, 2015
It took me this long to realize it, but it's time to lay some of these stories to rest. I try to hold onto these ideas because I believe there are no bad ideas, only bad execution. However, as I become a much better writer and see my limits and style, I know that some of the ideas I want to do, I can't pull off their full potential. That is a crime no writer worth their salt should make.
Dearly beloved readers, we are gathered here today to remember the story, Hidden of the Everfree. It was a good fic in which a monster was to terrorize the changelings, driving them out of the Everfree or their minds, whichever came first. It was supposed to be a horror, or at least thriller fiction, but as i have come to see my writing is much too light hearted and comedic for such scary stories, especially as I myself am not a fan of them either.
This fic was inspired by recent viewings of Seananners' videos on playing The Hidden with his friends. I had thought it would be interesting if there was such a thing in equestria, and thus the fic was born. I thought the best characters to be scared were the changelings themselves, especially after recent relocation from the wedding. My hopes were that the Hidden would drive the changelings out of the Everfree and into the arms of the ponies. Chrysalis would have a motherly, yet desperate personality coupled with a good back story of her people. The victory would be phyrric, I imagine. The Hidden having killed off most of the changelings, almost enough to wipe them out, leaving Chrysalis in ruins. But alas, I'm too happy for such things. I see with my current skills that whatever I wrote wouldn't live up to that image, probably not even get off the ground, and go the opposite way too.
You were a good fic. One of my earliest attempts at writing. You shall be missed.
That one has been in my read later folder for a while now. I was waiting for it to update before starting it...

Bro I need more... Ugg all the sadness. I hope to see u try again and know that it was one of the best I've read in a while thanks for your contribution. That said I think that not many writers go against the changelings because let's be honest they were just spared to sell more toys but I'm all for these kinds of stories because they are so rare because let's be honest the caribou fiction and everyone dies gets recycle too much or the trope gets way over used in the horror genre so thank you and good luck s further endeavors.
