Ponyfeather Publishing Release: Horse Voice's Biblical Monsters and Other Grim Tales · 3:57pm Mar 25th, 2019

When I first had the idea to start Ponyfeather Publishing, I pictured a lineup of the best novels our authors had written—but when I began looking through my favorites authors' bibliographies, I was reminded that many of them produce exemplary short-form work as well. Clearly, focusing exclusively on full-length stories would be inadequate, and Ponyfeather Publishing would need to offer short story collections as well.

I'm very pleased to offer the first such collection: Biblical Monsters and Other Grim Tales, a collection of thirteen of Horse Voice's best short stories, hand-selected by the author himself.

From the moment I read Horse Voice's first story back in 2012, I knew he was a skilled storyteller, but what really impressed me was how he managed to use the bright and colorful world of Friendship Is Magic to tell such dark and disturbing tales. He continued to impress me so much that I broke one of the Vault's only rules to feature him a second time for what is still one of my all-time favorite ponyfics, "The Writing on the Wall". His work is the kind that stays with you long after you read the last word and close the tab—or, now, after you turn the last page.

Free ebook editions of Biblical Monsters and Other Grim Tales are now available for download at ponyfeatherpublishing.com. As with the other PFP titles, prints will be available later this year, hopefully at BronyCon, definitely online.

Keep the lights on, and I'll see you soon with the next PFP release!

Sleep is important for a growing young man.

I first read "Biblical Monsters" very late at night in bed just before going to sleep. That was what's known in the business as "a mistake."

I'm amazed something managed to keep you awake, Mister Discord Mod.

I was trying to not be awake and thought I'd read that story I'd heard so much about to drift off...

You could've always asked me to chat with you. I'm sure you'd be out in no time! 😉

That is a cool-ass cover, but also a tiny-ass lighthouse. :twilightoops:

Confession time. When I commissioned the artist, I forgot to mention that the tower was supposed to be built for human scale, and this was the result. Of course, no lighthouse tower in the world has doors and windows shaped like that... and the singular beam of light is also wrong... and no lightkeeper worth his salt would let his station grounds get that overgrown. So I'll say it's all, uh, symbolic. Yeah, that's right. :twilightblush:
