I have been working tirelessly on several writing projects and I fear two of them may never be completed.
Why?
Twitter, Equestria style.
Writing good porn isn't hard for me. Writing a good story that is principally porn is a different matter entirely. I have three stories I'm currently working on that are stymied at the moment because of this:
No Wrong Way (M, death, fetish, gore, profanity, narcotics, sex, dark, romance, porn, Twilestia)
Innocence, Equestria (T, fetish, narcotics, noncon, sex, drama, horror, romance, Button Mash)
chapter update for Twilight's Secret Jounal (M, fetish, narcotics, noncon, profanity, sex, drama, horror, tragedy, Twicest)
The mane problem here is that porn has additional expectations on the writing that interfere with what else I want the writing to do. This makes it feel like I'm writing empty text that isn't establishing what I need to establish, and I can't concentrate on my work. It's becoming a serious problem for me.
The first one is my first actual porn story for Fimfiction. It's about 90% complete, but I've lost all steam. There's a message in it, but I think it's muddled beneath the sappy porn, and I'm not sure how to recover it properly.
The second one is a challenge: a horrifically disturbing fetish story that's rated Teen. The message is clearer, but I feel like I'm going through the motions and the motivation to complete it is escaping me.
The third one is a problem because there is some sex early in the next chapter, and plodding through that has been slow writing. Again, it's made me lose motivation, and I can't write without a message pushing its way out of my brain.
So I'm not sure what to do or if or when either of the first two stories will be finished. In the worst case, I should still end up with an update to Irreversible soon—but there the story has hit a slow point and I'm floundering on it as well.
I might need to take a break from writing until I get re-inspired. Suggestions, as always, are welcome.

Not helping is the fact that the new Porn tag kinda makes me wonder what qualifies as porn and what is just erotic. What if a fic I wanna write has an emphasis on sex scenes but still has a "point" or "story" to it? The assumption is that if you're writing porn then you're writing in a certain, I guess trashy way that's like a trip to McDonald's, but what if you were writing like you were doing something non-clop? It's a dilemma because you wanna write something pornographic and yet you also want it to have a purpose.
I dunno, man.
What do your editors and/or pre-readers think?

As a genre, it would be for stories whose primary purpose is titillation. TSJ wouldn't be porn, for one, even if it gets pornier in the future.
