Coming Soon, Really

I've been a bit under the weather since Trotcon, but feeling better now.

This weekend I need to work on putting together some poni stuff for my niece (she's up here for her birthday), and my inability to do basic things makes that a bit difficult. So I may be delayed a few days on the Trotcon retro and the other long post I still really really want to share with y'all.

I have a ridiculously photogenic image of Bad Horse but I have not figured out how to share it from the Googles so I need to figure out how to put things on my website again and make them hotlinkable so I can share it here. This message is in red because you need to be warned, and the drugs are starting to kick in. Thank goodness I did this part last there are so many fingers on my hands.

Trotcon was fun, by the way. Bad Horse and The Red Brony and Cold Spike and Uncr34t1ve and I had a big political and philosophical discussion at the party, and even though we're on all different sides of the spectrums of politics and philosophy, we were miraculously able to dialogue without accusing each other of being Nazis or Communists or libt*rds or empty suits or perverts or racists...! So weird. It's almost like if you're willing to listen to people instead of prejudging them you can learn something about them and yourself, and see that people you could save time by assuming to be terrible and hateful are often reasonable and not the way you'd automatically stereotype them if you stayed in your warm echo chambers.

Admiral Biscuit, Shalrath, the guy who crashed in my room that I can't remember because drugs and he hasn't PM'd me yet like he said he would, and some other people I forget were also around and we had a lot of fun chatting and eating and watching strange panels.

But seriously, I love talking to people who believe different things. Even when there are strong disagreements, actually listening to them helps me to understand myself better and I can see the flaws in my own thinking. Most people aren't assholes, and most misunderstandings stem from an unwillingness to self-examine and to get to know people who don't see eye-to-eye with you. This is a thing it seems like nopony can do anymore, and we're all kind of fucked as a species because of it.

Okay, rant over. Time to compile a ton of pony games and music for my cutie pie of a niece. Super Lesbian Horse RPG and that metroidvania with Spike are definitely going there. I'll be back with more to say about disability and consciousness after spending time with her this week.

4. I had intended to write up a combination of thank you Fimfiction post as well as general state of the Publiq earlier this month, but that latter half quickly expanded in scope much too far. Considering that I had attempted a similar comprehensive litany of all my unfinished projects in March that never got completed, I don’t know what I expected. 🙃
