I still didn't like it. The plot is still dumb, the message is still pretty ham-fisted, and while the main characters aren't the Mane Six clones that I thought they were, I feel most of them are a bit one-note. Oh, and there's also the inconsistencies between G4 and G5.

Part of me was dreading it was just going to be a complete mess that didn’t know what it was going to be as a sequel to a pop-culture phenomenon like Friendship is Magic, while the other part was hoping it’d somehow blow my mind away.

To my utter disappointment; it did neither.

It's good wholesome fun. Nothing really felt forced, and it emotionally moved me. It warmed my cold, black, cynical heart. So, if you looking for something wholesome to watch, watch this movie, rather than some grimdark edgy crap like Game of Thrones.

Unless you overanalyze this movie with a microscope there is nothing nobody should be upset about.
