Despite my distaste for G5 · 8:30pm Sep 28th, 2022

I can't help but find this episode strangely relatable:

While I've yet to reach a creative block (except in writing horse-words, in which I definitely hit a block to the point that I no longer have the motivation to continue writing horse-words), I understand what it's like to try something different only for peeps to not be interested in the new thing. And even when I sprinkle elements of the old thing in the new thing, it's basically the equivalent of sprinkling cheese all over your dog's food in an attempt to get him to eat his food. They're just gonna eat the cheese off the food while ignoring the food entirely. Though I will say I've gotten much better results from listening to my audience when compared to Izzy and Pipp. :rainbowlaugh:

Also, I can tell the writers of this episode are taking pot-shots at the more...negative...fans. Or at least that's what I think they're doing. And while I would like G5 to be like G4 but better (and, as I've made no secret about, to be a little darker), I most certainly don't want it to be a glorified rehash. Though, given how well The Force Awakens did, perhaps the common audience these days does enjoy glorified rehashes*.

* Before anyone points out there are plenty of elements that make The Force Awakens distinct from A New Hope, such as everything to do with Finn and those forsaken "mystery boxes" that J.J is so fond of, I will concede those are unique but came at the expense of the quality for the rest of the Sequel Trilogy considering those mystery boxes were either left hanging or had a disappointing answer inside and Finn's background as a Stormtrooper is greatly under-utilized.
