As Head-Mare, it's Starlight's responsibility to look out for her students and their well-being. However, every once in a while, a matter comes to her attention that she feels she needs to address. Today, after hearing talk about how close Silverstream and Gallus have become, she decides that this is one of those matters.

Sunset was expecting Princess Twilight Sparkle to be the one to come through the portal on a day when the holidays line up between the two worlds. Instead, her care package of Equestrian Hearth's Warming decorations is brought over by a student from the school of friendship, Gallus.

This unexpected encounter will lead to a holiday lesson that resonates with both of them.

Being Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard is a tough job be it from dealing with the public or, more often than not, the boredom. In those times, one's own past and thoughts may be a greater adversary than any attempt on the Princess's life.

Gallus comes home after one such mental battle, hoping to find refuge in the one place he knows the enemy can't touch him.

Personal discovery is a wonderful thing. In Silverstream's case, five words softly uttered from a certain distraught friend was all it took to ignite a furious fire in her heart.

Unfortunately for Grampa Gruff, he was flammable.

The other five members of the Young Six all know about Silverstream's old life as a seapony, and they've all seen her in her seapony form several times already. However, during a nice, relaxing field trip to the seaside, Silverstream's elegant seapony form begins to entice certain feelings within Gallus and Sandbar.
Will Ocellus, Smolder, and Yona be able to bring things back to normal? Will they even be able to keep these two boys' emotions in check, and their hooves/talons off of Silverstream's ravishing tail.

The day had been saved, the Villainous Trio defeated and safely placed in the garden of the School of Friendship. Everycreature was happily celebrating the win and enjoying themselves... everycreature except Ocellus. No, she had someone she needed to talk too now that she had the chance, even if that person couldn't listen anymore.

Griffonstone can be a very hard place to live... especially for Gallus. So with nothing to look forward to when heading back home, Silverstream invites him to travel with her to Mount Aris and spend the break with her. However unknowingly to Gallus, it will be a vacation that he will never forget.

Having spent time at the Royal Guard Academy, not long after finishing the School of Friendship, Gallus arrives at the Canterlot Palace for his first day as an officer in the Royal Guard. He was ordered to start late to visit Griffonstone and now has to wait in order to meet the Captain.

While he waits, his guardian Grandpa Gruff makes an unexpecting visit to talk with him, although because of how badly their already rough relationship ended, Gallus is rather reluctant to do so.

In just 12 hours, Silverstream will depart for the holidays, leaving Gallus alone at the Academy. Despite her pleas, Gallus refuses to follow or even tell her why. That is, until a special pony arrives that night to his dorm room and poses two simple questions: why did they come to the Friendship Academy? And if the answer is to make friends then...
