When Cadence told Celestia she was having twins, the princess of the sun wanted to be happy for her. She tried very hard to be happy for her, but she couldn’t. Celestia knew that it was inevitable, but hearing that Cadence was having foals drove a dagger of jealousy through her heart, for she is able to have something that Celestia can never have: foals.

Twilight Sparkle wasn't a pony who adapted to change easily. Was that the reason that, now that her home had been destroyed, she was having trouble sleeping? Was it the hard, unfamiliar bed? The harsh shadows of the castle walls?

Weddings are happy occasions, aren't they, a time to celebrate the union of two hearts? If there's any day a girl should be happy, it should be her wedding day. What could be more wonderful than being together with the one you love and promising to theirs forever and to hear that they'll be yours even longer?

The Bride wouldn't know. All that matters to her is this special day, this day of hers.

She was made for this day, after all.

One thousand years ago, Celestia performed an act that has haunted her every single day and night since. Many attempts were made to correct it, but all of them have failed. Tonight might be her last chance of ever being at peace again, but will it work? There are just too many variables.

A terrible new day rises when a tragedy, foreseen only by Celestia but preventable by none, occurs right in the middle of Canterlot, turning Twilight Sparkle's world upside-down. Now, all of Equestria is looking to her to hold the broken nation together, all while she tries to pick up the pieces of her shattered life.
