I've been wearing a mask. For how long i'm not certain. Someday that mask will come off. Either i'll remove it willingly or it'll fall off at the worst moment. Until then i'll just write the letters which i'll never send.

It's been years since Twilight last saw her old school friends. She'd always assumed they'd all gone on to bigger and better things in their lives, much as she had. Until one fateful night, she meets one of them again in the most unexpected of places.
Written for the Moondancer group contest, mostly before the Amending Fences episode aired. I tweaked a few things so the Moondancer here matched a bit closer to the one in the show.
"Howdy, it's Applejack. Sorry I missed your call, leave a message after the beep and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!"

If you ask Applejack, she’ll tell you Pinkie Pie can be a few apples short of a bushel even on the best of days. They’ve always been good friends, but nothing more than that. After all, what could a hard-working apple farmer and a sugar-crazed party pony possibly have in common?
As it turns out, the answer to that question may not be a pleasant one, but something good may yet come of it.
On the Pie family farm, there are only rocks. It's a life Pinkie moved away from. Back home, after a tragic event, her sister Inkie wonders if she should do the same. After all: it's hard to have a life worth living, with only rocks.

Pinkie Pie has always served admirably as the Element of Laughter, and it's time for the princesses to show their appreciation. In fact, they have a special assignment for her, something they've never tried. It will be the best surprise she ever had.
