Darknight Moonwing wears no uniform. White button-down shirts look quite official, and stand out in the darkness, whereas her shadow-colored fur does not. Her authority and her duty are not summed up by a neat white shirt nor a shiny badge, not in her opinion. She’d been hired to guard, a duty she would fulfill to the best of her abilities. Everything else was secondary to that.

Rainbow Dash's dreams are bigger than her wallet.

Rainbow dreams of buying a van, and she's found the perfect one--but she didn't quite realize how bad shape it was actually in until after she'd already spent her savings on it. She needs to get it fixed, but doesn't have the cash or the know-how to do it on her own.

She also dreams about meeting Sylvia, the mysterious girl who owns the black motorcycle that appears in the school parking lot every morning. Sylvia's bike is awesome--and Rainbow is pretty sure that Sylvia herself is pretty awesome, too. She'd love to meet her--but no one knows who she actually is.

Rainbow Dash has no idea that the solution to both her dreams comes from the person that she suspects the least.

Twilight's journey to set things right will take her through the wilderness, over stormy mountains, and
into the treacherous Black Zones, but she will not go alone. With Spike by her side and her friends in her heart, Twilight will do what it takes to save Equestria.

Stuck as an aide to a bunch of second-year students at Gifted Unicorns, Sunset Shimmer thought picking one to tutor might be entertaining… and maybe advance her plans for the mirror and her eventual ascension.
This 'Moon Dancer' filly is just a means to an end, after all.
So why can’t Sunset sleep after Moon Dancer storms out on her? Why are Princess Celestia and Professor Polish so concerned about her?
But most importantly, why is Sunset starting to doubt herself?
This was all part of the plan. Right?
