After being "reformed" by the Elements of Harmony, Luna has finally returned to Canterlot and her rightful place of rule. But time has passed her by, and she must adapt to the current society to survive.

However, a rampant aristocracy, internal strife, and unsolved grudges hold her back from advancing.

And through it all, the nightmare doesn't stop.

For years and centuries Luna has lived with the fact, that nopony has ever seen her night. Her subjects shun it away, despite for what she has done for them. Her own sister starts to foccus on her duties, overseeing the troubles of her younger sibling. Luna is filled with hate, anger, bitterness, sadness and jealousy. A dangerous mixture.
Her life changes, when she meets a dark, shadowy Alicorn during one faithful night. This mare shows sympathie and caring. She tries to help Luna the best she can. When Luna fails to ask Celestia for a very certain favour, the time of ignorance had reached its limits. Desperate, angry, sad and frustrated Luna agrees for a deal, that will change her entire life....

A thousand years of solitude would be hard on anyone. But those left behind bear its wounds as well.

A young Celestia and Luna venture into the Whitetail Wood in pursuit of the Star Eater, a monstrous magic-eating dragon.

The cost of victory is greater than either could have expected.

A short story originally written for the Lunestia Prompt Tag Collab that deviated from the original intent quite spectacularly.

After Nightmare Moon was purged from Luna's body, it left her completely and utterly weak. Struggling to perform even the most basic of spells, she has been spending a lot of time in her quarters trying to regain her strength, but recently she's been dealing with horrifying nightmares that assuage her night after night, each worst than the last.

After a particularly bad nightmare, Luna starts to lose hold of what is real and what is fake, and it is up to her caring and loving sister to help her through her ordeal.

No one remembers just when it started, or where it started, all they know now is that there's nothing left. The once proud and industrious nation of Equestria has been turned to nothing but ash and ruin as a mysterious force attacks when they are most vulnerable, when they sleep. With the last remnants of the country packed huddled into the castle Canterlot, the only remaining line of defense, Princess Luna, shall enter the dreamscape and try to end this nightmare for her people. But as she travels further and further down the rabbit hole, she soon discovers that, despite being the sovereign of dreams, she is way out of her depth as the creature of her nation’s nightmares torments her.

After taking her first bath in a thousand years, Luna discovers that her cutie mark has been a horrible lie. It turns out she isn't Princess of the Moon after all. In fact, she's actually Princess of Uranus.

Is Uranus ready for this?

Royal Guard Silver Birch knows Princess Luna's history, and her... extreme reactions to being neglected in the past. When it seems Luna has been snubbed yet again, he and his partner Winter Garden take action to shield their Princess from this slight, and spare Equestria her terrible wrath.
