The Clinical Psychologist Dr Wolf gets a very interesting patient in the form of Spike, who is having some problems with his feeling for Rarity and being a dragon.

Rainbow Dash and Soarin go for a flight at night, spending some quality time with each other.

In the midst of doing a favor for Ember in the dragon lands, Spike tells Rarity about his not-so-secret feelings. Rarity responds with a secret of her own, one that she's guarded for most of her life. They picked the wrong day, and the wrong kingdom, for a quiet heart-to-heart.

Garble and his cohorts kidnapped Rarity, and sent a ransom letter to Spike. Their only demands: Spike tells no one and gives Garble the Dragon Lord Staff. Spike must engage the trio in a deadly game of cat and mouse to keep Garble from getting his claws on the scepter. Failure could spell disaster for all of Equestria and a war between dragons and ponies.

A massage is just a massage, isn’t it? Apparently not when Spike is involved. Somehow finding a book on pony massage specifically for handed creatures like himself is fated to end the way that most of his adventures do: with the untimely destruction of Ponyville.

Princess Luna finds Spike and shows him the nightmares that his friends have been having in his absence, in an attempt to convince him to return to Ponyville of his own free will. Spike learns that dreams are the quickest road to the heart.

It's been almost six months since Spike and Rarity have gotten together. Sure there have been a few ups and downs in their relationship, but nothing they can't handle...
...but that all changes one night. When they wake up they discover that several things have changed:
Spike has not only gotten much bigger, but also grown wings as well.
They've apparently been married for twenty years!
And they have KIDS!?
Exactly how did this happen?! How do they get back to their own time? And more importantly... who's responsible for all this?!

A scientist wants to take Spike and study him in hopes of understanding dragons; however, her questionable methods make Spike refuse. The scientist counter-argues that Spike is not a pony and the same rights given to a pony, do not apply to him. A trial is commenced with Twilight as Spike’s defense attorney and Cadence as the unwilling prosecutor; Twilight must prove that Spike does indeed deserve the same rights as any pony. Or else, Spike is a lab rat that she will never see again.

This is a fanfic inspired by a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode The Measure of a Man, directed by Robert Scheerer. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
