Originally written in February of 2011 and posted first to /co/ then EqD, this was my first story and one of the original pieces of TwiDash. This has been edited for inclusion on FIMFiction, with thorough proofreading & editing by Double Dash. Do keep in mind this was written halfway through season 1 and without much of the information we've received in later seasons. After realising her dream was not playing in the Canterlot elite Octavia moves back to Manehattan. Though how will Vinyl react when her former best friend in the world comes back after not having spoken in five years? Will their relationship ever be the same, or have they both changed?

A/N After I had to cancel my old VinylxTavi fic I decided that I would start a new one. There's really no similarities from the last fic to this so don't fret if you have not/have read it. Now I'll have to give a huge shoutout to NotTheOP for editing my story once more. That guy is my savior!

After long years of playing for royal festivities in Canterlot, Octavia's musical skills start to plummet. She still has the talent, but she has no motivation, or inspiration to move on any further with her career. After meeting another musically inclined pony, Octavia start's to feel her inspiration kicking in, and she starts to fully understand why it has.

On the other hoof, Vinyl Scratch discovers what the power of music can truly do, and how friendship can only go but so far before it turns into something much more.

From the point of view from Vinyl Scratch, this is a journey, meeting, falling in love with, and building a relationship with Octavia. The two are very different and have very different views, thus creating a lot of tension and heart break in which both Vinyl and Octavia must pick up the pieces and put them back together, for their love is endless.

After almost a month, your duet with Octavia still ends with a train wreck. The grey earth pony suggests that you go over to her house for extra practice. As you meet her at her house, something seems...odd about her, but you can't figure it out. [Tender]
