It has been three months since Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo confessed their feelings for one another. For them, life has seemingly gone back to normal. However, everything changes when a new foal comes to Ponyville and ignites feelings within Sweetie Belle, feelings that she hadn't felt in a long time. Their love, loyalty and trust are put to the ultimate test as Sweetie Belle must face a shocking revelation: are her feelings for Scootaloo true or was it all just a phase that has run its course?

One night, Sweetie Belle finds herself dressed in a manner she wouldn't quite describe as her own style, and thus goes on an inwardly trip to find out what went wrong and why the stove burnt down as often as it did.

Sweetie Belle can't sleep at night unless she cuddles her special blanket; which makes her nervous about an upcoming sleepover. She doesn't want her friends to find out and make fun of her. But if she doesn't have her blanket, how will she ever go to sleep? She accidentally cuddles with somepony instead.

Nothing feels the same to her anymore.

Some mistakes have been made, and some friendships torn and it seems like nothing but sadness will come from them, or at least that's what sweetie belle thinks. She gets some reassurance from a friend in her time of need. Sometimes you need to take two steps back before you can gallop.

This story is a sequel to The Rainbow's Surprise

On the day of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's wedding, Princess Celestia left Twilight a message saying that she should prepare herself if something happens. The next morning, Twilight awakens to find that all of Ponyville has succumb to a blinding fog. She must now travel a monster-filled town in search for her teacher and friends and try to return Ponyville back to the way it was.

"He truly loved her and knew she loved him just as much. The dragon gulped deeply as a fluttering sensation occupied his stomach. He didn't just love Twilight as a friend."

After finally giving up on Rarity, Spike realizes that the true mare of his dreams has been in his company for a lifetime, but is unsure if Twilight would ever consider him as more than a great friend and assistant. The only way he can find out is ask.
