Fluttershy never thought of herself as an adventurer, but when opportunity arises, she sets out to the frozen north— the land of Arctica. This journey must be undertaken without her friends, but that doesn't mean they can't help her along a little on the way.

Still, Fluttershy has no idea what strange things lurk in the north...

Streamline flies above the land that would one day become Equestria. A question sits in the back of his mind, teasing him with its seeming simplicity. “What is it like to fly?” He had been asked hours ago, but he still had no answer. He would not land until he had one, not that he minded it taking hours more; that would only mean more time in the sky.

This story is a sequel to Memento Mori

Twilight learned a valuable lesson, long ago. Memento Mori: you too, will die. It was a bitter pill, but she accepted it and her boundless curiosity about the darkest of lores was for a while sated. But when she discovers a curious volume in the bottom of Ponyville library, hidden in the most unsuspecting of places (for after all, who would look in such a sleepy town?) she begins to feel a pull that she is not sure she wishes to resist.

Diamond Tiara goes too far and gets caught, now the Cutiemark Crusaders hold her fate in their hooves. Silver Spoon argues for leniency telling the story of how they met and of how they received their cutiemarks.

Probably would have won a few prizes, and gotten to hang out with my sister and her friends. I could have even spent some quality time with Princess Twilight.

I'd like to thank Chocoloco, PegasusKlondike, and chancellorpuddinghead for pre-reading this story. I should also apologize to Chocoloco: yes, I still think the prologue is a tad pessimistic, but I nearly drove myself crazy trying to change it.

Twilight and Celestia go off alone, and Twilight will not say what is the matter, only that she may not return at all. Her friends and Luna gather in a vigil at the library the night of the Twilight's unknown trial, waiting for her to come back to them. Twilight faces the most terrible of all decisions, and learns the nature of what she is, and what hopes she may yet have when the sun rises and she returns to her friends.

Broken promises, lost tickets, and a looming storm threaten Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon's perfect plan for Nightmare Night, but that doesn't stop them from picking on the one filly having a worse night than them: Scootaloo.
